Luke346 wrote:Integrity...? What! What does that mean...? Are you suggesting morals, ethics, character and integrity are actually important to God..? What! That has to be a typo, i don't get it...
Of course morals, ethics and character are important to God. Why wouldn't they be? God expects His Chosen to be honest, ethical, and be of good character. God doesn't want those He loves to lie cheat and steal. He wants them to have integrity, as He has integrity.

Psalm 79:1-13 A song of Asaph
Dear God, the nations have invaded Israel; desecrated Your holy temple, and reduced Jerusalem to rubble.
They have left the dead bodies of your chosen as bird, animal fodder.
They have spilled blood like water around Jerusalem, and there none left to bury the dead.
We are objects of contempt to surrounding countries.
When will it end, Lord? Will you be angry forever? How long will your jealousy rekindle?
Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge You, on the kingdoms that do not call to You; for they consumed Israel --- devastating Jacob's homeland.
Do not hold against us the sins of past generations; may your mercy reach out to us fast, for we are desperate.
Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.
Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”
That we may witness, demonstrate to the nations that you avenge the spilling of our blood.
May the groans of the prisoners come before you; with your strong arm preserve those condemned to die.
Pay back into the laps of our neighbors 7 times the contempt they have hurled at you, Lord.
Then we the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever ---- for generations to come.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 A Psalm of Asaph. O God, nations have come into Thy inheritance, They have defiled Thy holy temple, They made Jerusalem become heaps,
2 They gave the dead bodies of Thy servants Food for the fowls of the heavens, The flesh of Thy saints For the wild beast of the earth.
3 They have shed their blood As water round about Jerusalem, And there is none burying.
4 We have been a reproach to our neighbours, A scorn and a derision to our surrounders.
5 Till when, O Jehovah? art Thou angry for ever? Thy jealousy doth burn as fire.
6 Pour Thy fury on the nations who have not known Thee, And on kingdoms that have not called in Thy name.
7 For [one] hath devoured Jacob, And his habitation they have made desolate.
8 Remember not for us the iniquities of forefathers, Haste, let Thy mercies go before us, For we have been very weak.
9 Help us, O God of our salvation, Because of the honour of Thy name, And deliver us, and cover over our sins, For Thy name's sake.
10 Why do the nations say, `Where [is] their God?' Let be known among the nations before our eyes, The vengeance of the blood of Thy servants that is shed.
11 Let the groaning of the prisoner come in before Thee, According to the greatness of Thine arm, Leave Thou the sons of death.
12 And turn Thou back to our neighbours, Sevenfold unto their bosom, their reproach, Wherewith they reproached Thee, O Lord.
13 And we, Thy people, and the flock of Thy pasture, We give thanks to Thee to the age, To all generations we recount Thy praise!

Psalm 80:1-19 For the Director a song of Asaph
For the Director; according to “Lilies.” A song of Asaph.
Dear Shepherd of Israel, please listen, you who guide Joseph's descendants like a flock! Seated among the cherubim, glow upon Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Stir up your strength, and save us.
God, reestablish us; be visible and we will be saved.
Lord, how long will you stew in anger while your people pray?
You have given them the bread of tears, made them drink lots of tears .
You have left us to be a battle ground of our neighbors; our enemies slander us.
God of hosts, reestablish us; reveal Yourself and we shall be saved.
You brought a seedling out of Egypt ---- drove out nations and planted it.
You weeded out what had existed. The vine took deep root and filled the land.
The mountains were covered in its shadow, the cedars of God by its branches.
It sent out its branches to the sea, and shoots as far as the river.
Why have you kicked down its walls, so that all who come along pluck its fruit?
The boar from the forest strips the vine; the beast of the field feeds upon it.
Return God; look down from heaven and witness.
Visit this vine, the stock Your right hand planted, and the son whom you made strong for yourself.
Those who would destroy it—may they die at your rebuke.
May your hand be with the Man on your right, with this Son of man whom you made strong for Yourself.
Then we will not withdraw from You; revive us, and we will call to You.
Lord God of hosts, restore us; be visible and we will be saved.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- `On the Lilies.' A testimony of Asaph. -- A Psalm. Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Leading Joseph as a flock, Inhabiting the cherubs -- shine forth,
2 Before Ephraim, and Benjamin, and Manasseh, Wake up Thy might, and come for our salvation.
3 O God, cause us to turn back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
4 Jehovah, God of Hosts, till when? Thou hast burned against the prayer of Thy people.
5 Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears, And causest them to drink With tears a third time.
6 Thou makest us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies mock at it.
7 God of Hosts, turn us back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
8 A vine out of Egypt Thou dost bring, Thou dost cast out nations, and plantest it.
9 Thou hast looked before it, and dost root it, And it filleth the land,
10 Covered have been hills [with] its shadow, And its boughs [are] cedars of God.
11 It sendeth forth its branches unto the sea, And unto the river its sucklings.
12 Why hast Thou broken down its hedges, And all passing by the way have plucked it?
13 A boar out of the forest doth waste it, And a wild beast of the fields consumeth it.
14 God of Hosts, turn back, we beseech Thee, Look from heaven, and see, and inspect this vine,
15 And the root that Thy right hand planted, And the branch Thou madest strong for Thee,
16 Burnt with fire -- cut down, From the rebuke of Thy face they perish.
17 Let Thy hand be on the man of Thy right hand, On the son of man Thou hast strengthened for Thyself.
18 And we do not go back from Thee, Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call.

Psalm 81:1-16 To the Director q song of Asaph.
Cry loudly to God our power make a joyful noise to even Jocob's God.
Take the song and play the tambourine, the harp of joy.
Blow the trumpet in the new moon in the time appointed on our feast day.
For this is a law of Israel and an ordinance of Jacob's God.
This he ordained through Joseph as a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt where I heard a language that I did not understand.
I removed the burden from his shoulder; his hands were delivered from brick making.
You cried in of trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder (Mt. Sinai); I proved you at the waters of Meribah (where Moses truck the rock). [Imagine}
Listen people, and I will testify to you --- Israel ---- if you will obey me,
No strange god will possess you, neither will you worship any pagan god.
I am the LORD God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
However, my people did not listen to ME, and Israel did not love ME.
So I gave them up to the hardness of their heart, and they had to figure things out for themselves.
If only MY chosen would listen to ME and Israel would walk in MY ways!
I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn MY hand against their adversaries.
The haters of the LORD would have submitted themselves to Him, and their time would continue until the end of the present time.
And God would have fed them the finest of the wheat, and with honey out of rock I would have satisfied your needs.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- `On the Gittith.' By Asaph. Cry aloud to God our strength, Shout to the God of Jacob.
2 Lift up a song, and give out a timbrel, A pleasant harp with psaltery.
3 Blow in the month a trumpet, In the new moon, at the day of our festival,
4 For a statute to Israel it [is], An ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5 A testimony on Joseph He hath placed it, In his going forth over the land of Egypt. A lip, I have not known -- I hear.
6 From the burden his shoulder I turned aside, His hands from the basket pass over.
7 In distress thou hast called and I deliver thee, I answer thee in the secret place of thunder, I try thee by the waters of Meribah. Selah.
8 Hear, O My people, and I testify to thee, O Israel, if thou dost hearken to me:
9 There is not in thee a strange god, And thou bowest not thyself to a strange god.
10 I [am] Jehovah thy God, Who bringeth thee up out of the land of Egypt. Enlarge thy mouth, and I fill it.
11 But, My people hearkened not to My voice, And Israel hath not consented to Me.
12 And I send them away in the enmity of their heart, They walk in their own counsels.
13 O that My people were hearkening to Me, Israel in My ways would walk.
14 As a little thing their enemies I cause to bow, And against their adversaries I turn back My hand,
15 Those hating Jehovah feign obedience to Him, But their time is -- to the age.
16 He causeth him to eat of the fat of wheat, And [with] honey from a rock I satisfy thee!

Psalm 82:1-8 A song of Asaph
God stands in His own company. He pronounces judgment on the heart of a matter.
How long will human judges refuse to listen to evidence? How long will such shower special favors upon the wicked? (Think on that)
Provide fair judgment to the poor man, the sickly, the orphan, those with nothing.
Rescue the poor and helpless from the grasp of evil men.
But you are very foolish and so ignorant! Because you favor darkness, all the foundations of society are shaken to the core.
I have referred to you as “gods” and “sons of the Most High.”
But death proves that you are simply mortal men so named. You fall the same as "important" people—for all must die.
Stand up, God, and judge the earth. For all of it belongs to you. All nations are in your hands.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 -- A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.
2 Till when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? Selah.
3 Judge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.
4 Let the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.
5 They knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.
6 I -- I have said, `Gods ye [are], And sons of the Most High -- all of you,
7 But as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,
8 Rise, O God, judge the earth, For Thou hast inheritance among all the nations!
{This Psalm might be applied to the Judges of the Supreme Court concerning their most resent decision)

Psalm 83:1-18 A Song of Asaph.
Keep in touch, God; do no remain silent.
Note that your enemies make an uproar, and those who hate You have their noses in the air.
They provided crafty counsel against Your people, and have conspired against Your Chosen.
They remark, “Let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be forgotten.”
They conspire together and make a treaty against You:
This conspiracy includes those of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also is joined with them, they are the majority of the remnant of the descendants of Lot (Abraham's Nephew) [Imagine that]
Do to them as You did to the Midianites, the Sisera and Jabin at the river of Kishon, who perished at Endor; they became as poop on the ground.
Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes as Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, “Let us take for ourselves the pastures of God for our territory.”
O my God, make them like a tumbleweed, as stubble before the wind.
As fire burns a forest, and sets the mountainside ablaze, so pursue them with Your tornado, and make them afraid with Your hurricane.
Fill their faces with insecurity, that they may seek you, Lord.
Let them be flabbergasted and upset forever; let them be put to shame and perish, that they may indeed find You -- the only existing Lord, the Most High over the entire earth.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 A Song, -- A Psalm of Asaph. O God, let there be no silence to Thee, Be not silent, nor be quiet, O God.
2 For, lo, Thine enemies do roar, And those hating Thee have lifted up the head,
3 Against Thy people they take crafty counsel, And consult against Thy hidden ones.
4 They have said, `Come, And we cut them off from [being] a nation, And the name of Israel is not remembered any more.'
5 For they consulted in heart together, Against Thee a covenant they make,
6 Tents of Edom, and Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagarenes,
7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with inhabitants of Tyre,
8 Asshur also is joined with them, They have been an arm to sons of Lot. Selah.
9 Do to them as [to] Midian, As [to] Sisera, as [to] Jabin, at the stream Kishon.

11 Make their nobles as Oreb and as Zeeb, And as Zebah and Zalmunna all their princes,

13 O my God, make them as a rolling thing, As stubble before wind.
14 As a fire doth burn a forest, And as a flame setteth hills on fire,
15 So dost Thou pursue them with Thy whirlwind, And with Thy hurricane troublest them.
16 Fill their faces [with] shame, And they seek Thy name, O Jehovah.
17 They are ashamed and troubled for ever, Yea, they are confounded and lost.

Re: Bible verse by verse
Psalm 84:1-12 For the Music Director. According to The Gittith. A song of the sons of Korah.
How pretty is the location You reside, dear Lord of Hosts!
My soul desires, yes, even begs for the courts of the Lord; my heart and body cry out for the living God.
Yes, the sparrow found a home and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her eggs, even by Your altars, dear Lord of Hosts, my King and God.
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they continually praise You. (Imagine)
Blessed is the man whose power comes from You, in whose heart leads in your direction.
As they pass through the valley of crying, they design a fountain. Blessings also extend to the director.
They proceed from strength to strength; every one of them appears in Zion before God.
Dear Lord God of Hosts, hear my prayer, and listen, dear God of Jacob. (Think on that)
View, God our protection, and see the face of Your anointed.
For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God than to dwell inside the tents of the wickedness.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give favor and glory ------ nothing good thing will He withhold from the one who walks uprightly.
Dear Lord of Hosts, blessed is the man who trusts You.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- `On the Gittith By sons of Korah.' -- A Psalm. How beloved Thy tabernacles, Jehovah of Hosts!
2 My soul desired, yea, it hath also been consumed, For the courts of Jehovah, My heart and my flesh cry aloud unto the living God,
3 (Even a sparrow hath found a house, And a swallow a nest for herself, Where she hath placed her brood,) Thine altars, O Jehovah of Hosts, My king and my God.
4 O the happiness of those inhabiting Thy house, Yet do they praise Thee. Selah.
5 O the happiness of a man whose strength is in Thee, Highways [are] in their heart.
6 Those passing through a valley of weeping, A fountain do make it, Blessings also cover the director.
7 They go from strength unto strength, He appeareth unto God in Zion.
8 O Jehovah, God of Hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
9 Our shield, see, O God, And behold the face of Thine anointed,
10 For good [is] a day in Thy courts, O Teacher! I have chosen rather to be at the threshold, In the house of my God, Than to dwell in tents of wickedness.
11 For a sun and a shield [is] Jehovah God, Grace and honour doth Jehovah give. He withholdeth not good To those walking in uprightness.
12 Jehovah of Hosts! O the happiness of a man trusting in Thee.

Re: Bible verse by verse
Psalm 85:1-13 For the Music Director. A song of the Sons of Korah.
Lord, showed favor to His land; restoring the wealth of Jacob.
You forgave the evils of Your people and covered all their sins.
You set aside all Your wrath and withdrew your fierce anger.
Restore us again, God our Savior, and withdraw Your displeasure regarding us.
Will you be angry with us until the ages end? Will you prolong Your anger through future generations?
Will You awaken us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
Show us Your never ending love, Lord, and save us.
I will listen to what Lord God says; He promises peace to His chosen, His faithful servants—but let them not return to folly.
Surely His salvation is near those who realize Him, that His glory may dwell in our land.
Love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Faithfulness springs out from the ground, and righteousness peers down from heaven.
The Lord will indeed provide what is good, and our land will yield a harvest.
Righteousness goes ahead of Him and prepares the path for His steps.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- By sons of Korah. A Psalm. Thou hast accepted, O Jehovah, Thy land, Thou hast turned [to] the captivity of Jacob.
2 Thou hast borne away the iniquity of Thy people, Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
3 Thou hast gathered up all Thy wrath, Thou hast turned back from the fierceness of Thine anger.
4 Turn back [to] us, O God of our salvation, And make void Thine anger with us.
5 To the age art Thou angry against us? Dost Thou draw out Thine anger To generation and generation?
6 Dost Thou not turn back? Thou revivest us, And Thy people do rejoice in Thee.
7 Show us, O Jehovah, thy kindness, And Thy salvation Thou dost give to us.
8 I hear what God Jehovah speaketh, For He speaketh peace unto His people, And unto His saints, and they turn not back to folly.
9 Only, near to those fearing Him [is] His salvation, That honour may dwell in our land.
10 Kindness and truth have met, Righteousness and peace have kissed,
11 Truth from the earth springeth up, And righteousness from heaven looketh out,
12 Jehovah also giveth that which is good, And our land doth give its increase.
13 Righteousness before Him goeth, And maketh His footsteps for a way!
