I've looked in on this thread from time to time and I have no idea why it exists. As Quasi noted, it looks like a continuous copy/paste of the Bible and if someone wants to read it, they can easily read it online elsewhere or take it off their bookshelf and engage it.

I have been reading this thread, and I appreciate it.

Thanks! I feel that there are at least a few others who need both a read along partner, and perhaps may realize that the Bible is not impossible to comprehend. I do ask God for guidance. And my understanding is conservative and a "Born Again" --- "Fundamentalist" perspective... It is my desire that together with God we will get a personal perspective on what God's Word has to say. And please, if I make a blunder, feel free to question me on it. I'm a Christian. I'm not perfect... :ugeek:

All your posts are rather involved. This thread has accomplished nothing. Give yourself a break. If any of the members here don't have their own copy of the Bible, the can look it up online just like you do.

All you are doing is wasting bandwidth.

I came onto the board recently, so I have no idea why this thread exists, is there a reason for posting biblical sentences online? All I know is it's one of those things that was always here, but who knows why.

The idea is to get others to read the Bible and not be intimidated. So, I thought that I would try to word the Bible in a way to show others what I see it saying as I read it. I also find that in so doing, I am forced to do some research. In this way, I am learning as I go along. And I hope you are too! I apply Young's Literal Translation because most people are not exposed to it (if they ever heard of it).

I think LittleNipper may feel he is scoring points with God by posting the entire Bible on this board. It's obvious that if someone desires to read the Bible online, there are many websites to go to. He is wasting an enormous amount of band width, but if Shades doesn't care, I guess it's OK.

I would call it self flagellation, but it is pretty easy to copy and paste.

I firmly believe in "Faith". I believe that "Works" are what GOD performs through individuals. There are countless threads on this site, and much of what is written is simply a waste of time to someone, somewhere, somehow. Clearly reading the Bible is worthy of some promotion. And if not, what is? :ugeek: What is eternally more important than trying to comprehend the Bible ----- and at a "religious site" nonetheless? :surprised:

This site is as religious as Joe was a prophet, alias man of god...

Well, there is a difference between "religious" and "godly". An atheist can be quite religious and yet not accept the Bible. One can design his own set of rules and consider himself a "good" person because he follows them. But that doesn't make him godly ----- anymore than Satan himself who has his own motives which he follows "religiously": Confuse, Confound, Corrupt, Control.

Isaiah 30:1-33

Misery to the rebellious children, says the Lord, who take counsel and make alliances, but not from Me or My Spirit, so they can sin habitually

They walk down to Egypt and have not prayed , to strengthen themselves in the safety of Pharaoh
and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

Therefore the Pharaoh being safe shall shame you and the trust in big brother Egypt your humiliation.

For their princes were at Zoan ( a city on the Tanitic branch of the Nile, called by the Greeks Tanis), and their ambassadors arrived at Hanes (possibly a city somewhere in the delta nearer to Jerusalem than Tanis)

They all will be ashamed of a people who are unhelpful nor provide them value, but only shame and reproach.

The burden of the beasts of the Negev (is a dry and semi-desert region of southern Israel).

Through a land of problems & fear, were live the lioness and lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent (please see: http://www.genesispark.com/essays/fiery-serpent/),
they will carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people who shall not see the value.

Because the Egyptians shall be of no help. Therefore, I have called her, “Rahab who does nothing.”

Now go, write to them on a tablet, and note it in a book, that it may serve as a lasting record.

This being a rebellious people, lying children, who refuse to listen to the law of the Lord.

They say to the seers,“You must not see visions,” and to the prophets, “You must not prophesy to us what is good; speak to us pleasant things, prophetic illusions.

Move over, take a different route, let us hear no more concerning the Holy One of Israel.”

Therefore, says the Holy One of Israel:

Because you despise this word and trust in oppression and perverseness, and become dependent on them. The result being that vice shall be to you as a rupture ready to collapse, swelling up in a high wall, an avalanche coming suddenly, instaniously.

He shall break it as the defective potter’s vessel is broken in pieces; He shall smash it to smithereens.

For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel says: "In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. Yet you are not interests!"

You said, “No, for we will escape on horses!” So, flee! “And we will ride on fast horses!” So, those chasing after you shall be swift also!

1000 shall run at the threat of one man; at the threat of five you shall flee until those left will stick out like a sore thumb!

The Lord longs to be gracious to you, and therefore, He waits above to have mercy on you; for the Lord is just; blessed are all who desire Him.

Dear people in Zion, inhabitants in Jerusalem, you shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry. When He hears it, He will answer you.

Though the Lord has given you adversity to eat and affliction to drink, yet He, your Teacher, will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes shall perceive your Teacher.

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “Walk this way,” whenever you turn right or left.

You shall destroy your graven silver plated images, and your molded images inlayed with gold. You shall throw them away them as garbage, and say, “Be gone!”

Then God shall give you rain for your sown seed and fruitful increase from the earth. And it shall be lush and plentiful. At that time your cattle shall feed in spacious pastures. The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that work the ground shall eat dried feed, which has been tossed by shovel and fork.

There will be on every high mountain and high hill rivers and streams of waters that time of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

Additionally, the light of the moon shall appear as bright as the sun presently, but the light of the sun shall be 7 times, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord pulls up the pants of His people and heals the wound from His spanking.

See, the name of the Lord comes from afar, burning with anger, and its burden is heavy --- full of indignation, and His words as a devouring fire.

His breath is as a stream in flood stage reaching to the middle of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity; and the people will be steered, as a horse but aiming them to do error.

You shall sing songs, as in the night when a festival is observed, and possess a light heart, as when one follows a piper to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel.

The Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and shall reveal the descending of His arm with indignation of His anger, using a flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, cloudburst, and hailstones.

By the voice of the Lord the Assyrian shall be beaten down when God strikes with a rod.

Every punishing blow of the rod which the Lord shall lay on him shall be accompanied with tambourines and harps (The Assyrians would beat drums to mask the sound of the baby's cries they sacrificed to Moloch). And in battles, brandishing weapons, He will fight them.

Because Tophet (the baby sacrificial area to Moloch) has been long prepared, by the king it was been establish. He has made it deep and large, a heap of wood an d a raging fire; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, ignites it.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 Wo [to] apostate sons, The affirmation of Jehovah! To do counsel, and not from Me, And to spread out a covering, and not of My spirit, So as to add sin to sin.

2 Who are walking to go down to Egypt, And My mouth have not asked, To be strong in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt.

3 And the strength of Pharaoh Hath been to you for shame, And the trust in the shadow of Egypt confusion,

4 For in Zoan were his princes, And his messengers reach Hanes.

5 All he made ashamed of a people that profit not, Neither for help, not for profit, But for shame, and also for reproach!

6 The burden of the beasts of the south. Into a land of adversity and distress, Of young lion and of old lion, Whence [are] viper and flying saraph, They carry on the shoulder of asses their wealth, And on the hump of camels their treasures, Unto a people not profitable.

7 Yea, Egyptians [are] vanity, and in vain do help, Therefore I have cried concerning this: `Their strength [is] to sit still.'

8 No, go in, write it on a tablet with them, And on a book engrave it, And it is for a latter day, for a witness unto the age,

9 That a rebellious people [is] this, sons -- liars, Sons not willing to hear the law of Jehovah.

10 Who have said to seers, `Ye do not see,' And to prophets, `Ye do not prophesy to us Straightforward things, Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits,

11 Turn aside from the way, decline from the path, Cause to cease from before us the Holy One of Israel.'

12 Therefore, thus said the Holy One of Israel, Because of your kicking against this word, And ye trust in oppression, And perverseness, and rely on it,

13 Therefore is this iniquity to you as a breach falling, Swelled out in a wall set on high, Whose destruction suddenly, at an instant cometh.

14 And He hath broken it As the breaking of the potters' bottle, Beaten down -- He doth not spare, Nor is there found, in its beating down, A potsherd to take fire from the burning, And to draw out waters from a ditch.

15 For thus said the Lord Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel: `In returning and rest ye are saved, In keeping quiet and in confidence is your might, And ye have not been willing.

16 And ye say, No, for on a horse we flee? Therefore ye flee, And on the swift we ride! Therefore swift are your pursuers.

17 One thousand because of the rebuke of one, Because of the rebuke of five ye flee, Till ye have been surely left as a pole On the top of the mountain, And as an ensign on the height.

18 And therefore doth wait Jehovah to favour you, And therefore He is exalted to pity you, For a God of judgment [is] Jehovah, O the blessedness of all waiting for Him.

19 For the people in Zion dwell in Jerusalem, Weep thou not, weeping, Pitying, He pitieth thee at the voice of thy cry, When He heareth He answereth thee.

20 And the Lord hath given to you bread of adversity, And water of oppression. And thy directors remove no more, And thine eyes have seen thy directors,

21 And thine ear heareth a word behind thee, Saying, `This [is] the way, go ye in it,' When ye turn to the right, And when ye turn to the left.

22 And ye have defiled the covering of Thy graven images of silver, And the ephod of thy molten image of gold, Thou scatterest them as a sickening thing, `Go out,' thou sayest to it.

23 And He hath given rain [for] thy seed, With which thou dost sow the ground, And bread, the increase of the ground, And it hath been fat and plenteous, Enjoy do thy cattle in that day an enlarged pasture.

24 And the oxen and the young asses serving the ground, Fermented provender do eat, That one is winnowing with shovel and fan.

25 And there hath been on every high mount, And on every exalted hill, Rivulets -- streams of waters, In a day of much slaughter, in the falling of towers.

26 And the light of the moon hath been as the light of the sun, And the light of the sun is sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day of Jehovah's binding up the breach of His people, When the stroke of its wound He healeth.

27 Lo, the name of Jehovah is coming from far, Burning is His anger, and great the flame, His lips have been full of indignation, And His tongue [is] as a devouring fire.

28 And His breath [is] as an overflowing stream, Unto the neck it divideth, To sift nations with a sieve of vanity, And a bridle causing to err, [Is] on the jaws of the peoples.

29 Singing is to you as in a night sanctified for a festival, And joy of heart as he who is going with a pipe, To go in to the mountain of Jehovah, Unto the rock of Israel.

30 And caused to be heard hath Jehovah The honour of His voice, And the coming down of His arm He doth shew with the raging of anger, And the flame of a consuming fire, Scattering, and inundation, and hailstone.

31 For from the voice of Jehovah broken down [is] Asshur, With a rod He smiteth.

32 And every passage of the settled staff, That Jehovah causeth to rest on him, Hath been with tabrets, and with harps, And in battles of shaking he hath fought with it.

33 For, arranged from former time is Tophet, Even it for the king is prepared, He hath made deep, He hath made large, Its pile [is] fire and much wood, The breath of Jehovah, As a stream of brim stone, is burning in it!
