Jeremiah 22:1-30

So says the Lord, "Go visit the house of the king of Judah, and say, 'Hear the word of the Lord, king of Judah sitting upon David's throne, you, your servants and your people entering by these gates. Execute justice and be ethical, and deliver the robbed out of the hand of the thief. And do no wrong or violence towards visitors, the fatherless, or the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

If you listen and obey, then the kings sitting on the throne of David will continue to enter by the gates of this house, riding in chariots and on horses, he, his servants and his people.

But if you disobey these words, I swear on Myself, says the Lord, that this house will become a lonely devastated ruin."

For so says the Lord to the king’s house of Judah:

"You're like Gilead to Me, and the peak of Lebanon; yet to be sure I will turn you into a wilderness of uninhabited cities.

I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone carrying weapons; and they shall cut down your choice cedars and burn them.

Many from various countries will pass by this city, and every man will ask his neighbor, “Why has the Lord done such to this great city?”

They will be answered, “Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God, and worshipped other gods ---- serving them.”

Do not weep for the dead nor cry over him, but weep constantly for him who is carried away; for he will return no more to see his native country.

For so says the Lord concerning Josiah king of Judah's son Shallum, who became king in place of Josiah his father ---- who was taken away: "He will never return,

but will die in the place where they have led him captive.

Misery to him who builds his house unrighteously and his rooms with injustice, who imposes on his neighbor’s services without wages, and gives him nothing for his labor,

who says, 'I will build myself a McManson with large chambers,' and designs lavish windows, paneling it with cedar and painting it richly.

Do you rule because you compete in cedar? Didn't your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness, and then everything went well with him?

He considered the problems of the poor and needy; then it was well with him. Is not this what it means to know Me?" says the Lord.

But your eyes and your heart are intent only upon greediness, and shedding innocent blood, and on control and violence.

Therefore thus says the Lord concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

They will not morn for him, saying, “Ah, my brother!” or, “Ah, sister!” They will not lament for him, saying, “Ah, lord!” or, “Ah, his glory!”

He will be buried with the burial of a dead ass, dragged and cast out beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

Go up to Lebanon and cry out. Lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry out from Abarim, for all your lovers are destroyed.

I spoke to you in all your health and wealth, but you said, “I will not listen!” This has been your behavior from your youth, that you have not obeyed My voice.

The wind will blow away all your shepherds, and your lovers shall be taken into captivity; surely then you will be ashamed and humiliated for all your wickedness.

Dear inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest among cedars, how you will moan when spasms come upon you, the pain like a woman in labor!

As I exist, says the Lord, though Koniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet ring on My right hand, yet would I pluck you from there.

And I will give you into the hand of those who seek your life and into the hand of those whose face you fear, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

I will cast you and your mother into another foreign land where you were not born, and there you shall die.

But to the land where they wish to be, they will not return there."

Is this man Koniah a worthless jar? Is he an undesired container? Why are he and his children cast away and taken into a land unknown to them?

Oh my ---- oh my --- oh my country, hear the word of the Lord!

So says the Lord, "Label such a man childless, unprosperous in life; for none of his dependents will succeed in sitting on David's throne and ruling in Judah."

1 Thus said Jehovah, `Go down [to] the house of the king of Judah, and thou hast spoken there this word, and hast said,

2 Hear a word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, who art sitting on the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people, who are coming in at these gates,

3 Thus said Jehovah: Do ye judgment and righteousness, And deliver the plundered from the hand of the oppressor, And sojourner, orphan, and widow, ye do not oppress nor wrong, And innocent blood ye do not shed in this place.

4 For, if ye certainly do this thing, Then come in by the gates of this house Have kings sitting for David on his throne, Riding on chariot, and on horses, He, and his servants, and his people.

8 And many nations have passed by this city, And they have said, each to his neighbour, For what hath Jehovah done thus to this great city?

9 And they have said, `Because that they have forsaken The covenant of Jehovah their God, And bow themselves to other gods, and serve them.'

10 Ye do not weep for the dead, nor bemoan for him, Weep ye sore for the traveller, For he doth not return again, Nor hath he seen the land of his birth.

11 For thus said Jehovah concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who hath gone forth from this place: He doth not turn back hither again;

12 For in the place whither they have removed him he dieth, And this land he doth not see again.

13 Wo to him who is building his house by unrighteousness, And his upper chambers by injustice, On his neighbour he layeth service for nought, And his wage he doth not give to him.

14 Who is saying, `I build for myself a large house, And airy upper chambers,' And he hath cut out for himself its windows, Ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermillion.

15 Dost thou reign, because thou art fretting thyself in cedar? Thy father -- did he not eat and drink? Yea, he did judgment and righteousness, Then [it is] well with him.

16 He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well -- is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Jehovah.

17 But thine eyes and thy heart are not, Except on thy dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence.

18 Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: They do not lament for him, Ah, my brother, and Ah, sister, They do not lament for him, Ah, lord, and Ah, his honour.

19 The burial of an ass -- he is buried, Dragged and cast out thence to the gates of Jerusalem.

25 And I have given thee into the hand of those seeking thy life, And into hands of which thou art afraid, Into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of the Chaldeans.

26 And I have cast thee, And thy mother who bore thee, unto another country, Where ye were not born, and there do ye die.

27 And to the land whither they are lifting up their soul to return, Thither they do not return.

28 A grief -- a despised broken thing -- is this man Coniah? A vessel in which there is no pleasure? Wherefore have they been cast up and down, He and his seed, Yea, they were cast on to a land that they knew not?

29 Earth, earth, earth, hear a word of Jehovah,

30 Thus said Jehovah: Write ye this man childless, A man -- he doth not prosper in his days, For none of his seed doth prosper, Sitting on the throne of David, And ruling again in Judah!"

Jeremiah 23:1-40

Misery will come to the leaders who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture! says the Lord.

As a result, the Lord God of Israel says against the shepherds that feed My people: You have scattered My flock --- driving them away and never visited them. I am about to punish your evil deeds,

I will gather want is left of My flock out of all countries everywhere I've driven them and bring them back to the fold, and they shall de well and grow in population.

I will also establish shepherds over them who will nurture them; and they will fear no more, nor be discouraged, nor will they get lost.

The days will arrive when I will establish for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king, deal wisely, and execute justice and righteousness upon the earth.

During His time Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. And this is the name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Therefore, the days are coming absolutely, when they will no more say, “As the Lord exists who took the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt.”

But rather, “As the Lord exists who took and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the northern land and from all countries where I had driven them.” Then they will dwell in their own country."

My heart is broken inside me, because of the prophets; my bones shake. I'm as a drunk overcome by wine, because of the Lord and His holy words.

This country is full of adulterers. The land is sad because of the curse. The pleasant wilderness areas have dried up. And their direction is evil and their power is incorrect.

For both prophet and priest are secular. In fact even in My temple I have discovered their wickedness,

The result is that their way are a slippery slope. They shall head for the darkness and trip in it. I will bring disaster upon them, even the year of their punishment,

Additionally, I have observed folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal and caused My people Israel to err.

I have also witnessed among the prophets of Jerusalem a terrible thing. They commit adultery and walk in lies. They encourage the ways of evildoers, so that no one repents from his evil deeds. All of them are like Sodom to Me and her inhabitants as Gomorrah.

As a result, “I will feed them with wormwood and make them drink such as spleen waste, for from the prophets of Jerusalem profanity has spread about the land.”

Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They lead you into vanity; they speak concerning a vision of their own desire and not from the Lord.

They still say to those who despise Me, “The Lord has said, ‘You will have peace’ ”; and they say to everyone who walks after the thoughts of their own desires,“No evil will come upon you.”

For who has stood in the counsel of the Lord and has recognized and heard His word? Who has heeded to His word and listened to it?

Look, a tornado of the Lord has gone forth in fury, a turbulent twister. It will land tempestuously upon the head of the wicked.

The anger of the Lord will not be stayed until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the end times you will understand it perfectly.

I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

But if they had accepted My counsel and had caused My people to hear My words, then they would have turned them from their evil direction and from their evil deeds.

Am I a God who is close, and not distant?

Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I do not see him? Am I not everywhere in heaven and earth?

I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, “I had a dream, I had a dream!”

How long shall this be the root of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed, they are prophets of the deceit of their own desires.

They plan to cause My people to forget My name by their dreams, which they tell to their neighbor, as their fathers have forgotten My name for Baal.

The prophet who dreams, let him reveal his dream. And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?

Is not My word like fire, and like a hammer that breaks the rock apart?

Note: as a result I am against the prophets, who steal My words, each from his neighbor.

Note: I am against the prophets, who use their tongues and say, “The Lord says.”

Note: I am against those who prophesy false dreams, and recount them and cause My people to err by their lies and reckless boasting. I never sent them nor commanded them. As a result they shall not benefit this people at all.

When this people, prophet, or a priest asks you, “What is the oracle of the Lord?” you shall answer them, “What oracle? I will forsake you, says the Lord.”

As for the prophet, priest and people who say, “The oracle of the Lord,” I will punish that man and his house. This everyone of you will ask of his neighbor and brother, “What has the Lord answered?” and, “What has the Lord spoken?”

And the oracle of the Lord you shall mention no more, for every man’s word will be his oracle. For you have distorted the words of the living God, of the Lord of Hosts our God.

This say to that prophet, “What has the Lord answered you?” and, “What has the Lord spoken?”

But if you say, “The oracle of the Lord”; therefore says the Lord: Because you use this word, “The oracle of the Lord,” which I have explicitly told you not to say:

As a result, absolutely, I, even I, will utterly forget you and cast you and the city that I gave you and your ancestors out of My presence.

And I will bring scorn upon you to the end of the age with perpetual shame which shall not be absolved.

32 Lo, I [am] against the prophets of false dreams, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they recount them, and cause my people to err, By their falsehoods, and by their instability, And I -- I have not sent them, Nor have I commanded them, And they are not at all profitable to this people, An affirmation of Jehovah.

33 And when this people, or the prophet, Or a priest, doth ask thee, saying, What [is] the burden of Jehovah? Then thou hast said unto them: Ye [are] the burden, and I have left you, An affirmation of Jehovah.

34 And the prophet, and the priest, and the people, That saith, The burden of Jehovah, I have seen after that man, and after his house.

35 Thus do ye say each unto his neighbour, And each unto his brother: What hath Jehovah answered? And what hath Jehovah spoken?

36 And the burden of Jehovah ye do not mention any more, For the burden to each is -- His word, And ye have overturned the words of the living God, Jehovah of Hosts, our God.

37 Thus dost thou say unto the prophet What hath Jehovah answered thee? And what hath Jehovah spoken?

38 And if the burden of Jehovah ye say, Therefore thus said Jehovah: Because of your saying this word, The burden of Jehovah, And I do send unto you, saying, Ye do not say, The burden of Jehovah.

39 Therefore, lo, I -- I have taken you utterly away, And I have sent you out, And the city that I gave to you, And to your fathers, from before My face,

40 And I have put on you reproach age-during, And shame age-during that is not forgotten!

Kill People Who Don't Listen to Priests
Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

Kill Witches
You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)

Kill Homosexuals
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

Kill Fortunetellers
A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)

Death for Hitting Dad
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

Death for Cursing Parents
1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB) 2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

Death for Adultery
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

Death for Fornication
A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

Death to Followers of Other Religions
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

Kill Nonbelievers
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Kill False Prophets
If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, "You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord." When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)

Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night
But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

Kill Followers of Other Religions
1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)
2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

Death for Blasphemy
One day a man who had an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father got into a fight with one of the Israelite men. During the fight, this son of an Israelite woman blasphemed the LORD's name. So the man was brought to Moses for judgment. His mother's name was Shelomith. She was the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan. They put the man in custody until the LORD's will in the matter should become clear. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and tell all those who heard him to lay their hands on his head. Then let the entire community stone him to death. Say to the people of Israel: Those who blaspheme God will suffer the consequences of their guilt and be punished. Anyone who blasphemes the LORD's name must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the LORD's name will surely die. (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)

Kill False Prophets
1) Suppose there are prophets among you, or those who have dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and the predicted signs or miracles take place. If the prophets then say, 'Come, let us worship the gods of foreign nations,' do not listen to them. The LORD your God is testing you to see if you love him with all your heart and soul. Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. The false prophets or dreamers who try to lead you astray must be put to death, for they encourage rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of slavery in the land of Egypt. Since they try to keep you from following the LORD your God, you must execute them to remove the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NLT)
2) But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die.' You may wonder, 'How will we know whether the prophecy is from the LORD or not?' If the prophet predicts something in the LORD's name and it does not happen, the LORD did not give the message. That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT)

Infidels and Gays Should Die
So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. Just outside that door are the young men who buried your husband, and they will carry you out, too." Instantly, she fell to the floor and died. When the young men came in and saw that she was dead, they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. Great fear gripped the entire church and all others who heard what had happened. Destruction of A.I.

So Joshua and the army of Israel set out to attack A.I.. Joshua chose thirty thousand fighting men and sent them out at night with these orders: "Hide in ambush close behind the city and be ready for action. When our main army attacks, the men of A.I. will come out to fight as they did before, and we will run away from them. We will let them chase us until they have all left the city. For they will say, 'The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.' Then you will jump up from your ambush and take possession of the city, for the LORD your God will give it to you. Set the city on fire, as the LORD has commanded. You have your orders." So they left that night and lay in ambush between Bethel and the west side of A.I.. But Joshua remained among the people in the camp that night. Early the next morning Joshua roused his men and started toward A.I., accompanied by the leaders of Israel. They camped on the north side of A.I., with a valley between them and the city. That night Joshua sent five thousand men to lie in ambush between Bethel and A.I., on the west side of the city. So they stationed the main army north of the city and the ambush west of the city. Joshua himself spent that night in the valley. When the king of A.I. saw the Israelites across the valley, he and all his army hurriedly went out early the next morning and attacked the Israelites at a place overlooking the Jordan Valley. But he didn't realize there was an ambush behind the city. Joshua and the Israelite army fled toward the wilderness as though they were badly beaten, and all the men in the city were called out to chase after them. In this way, they were lured away from the city. There was not a man left in A.I. or Bethel who did not chase after the Israelites, and the city was left wide open. Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Point your spear toward A.I., for I will give you the city." Joshua did as he was commanded. As soon as Joshua gave the signal, the men in ambush jumped up and poured into the city. They quickly captured it and set it on fire. When the men of A.I. looked behind them, smoke from the city was filling the sky, and they had nowhere to go. For the Israelites who had fled in the direction of the wilderness now turned on their pursuers. When Joshua and the other Israelites saw that the ambush had succeeded and that smoke was rising from the city, they turned and attacked the men of A.I.. Then the Israelites who were inside the city came out and started killing the enemy from the rear. So the men of A.I. were caught in a trap, and all of them died. Not a single person survived or escaped. Only the king of A.I. was taken alive and brought to Joshua. When the Israelite army finished killing all the men outside the city, they went back and finished off everyone inside. So the entire population of A.I. was wiped out that day – twelve thousand in all. For Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived in A.I. was completely destroyed. Only the cattle and the treasures of the city were not destroyed, for the Israelites kept these for themselves, as the LORD had commanded Joshua. So A.I. became a permanent mound of ruins, desolate to this very day. Joshua hung the king of A.I. on a tree and left him there until evening. And they raised over him a great heap of stones to this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger: wherefore the name of that place was called the valley of Achor to this day. Kill Followers of Other Religions
While the Israelites were camped at Acacia, some of the men defiled themselves by sleeping with the local Moabite women. These women invited them to attend sacrifices to their gods, and soon the Israelites were feasting with them and worshiping the gods of Moab. Before long Israel was joining in the worship of Baal of Peor, causing the LORD's anger to blaze against his people. The LORD issued the following command to Moses: "Seize all the ringleaders and execute them before the LORD in broad daylight, so his fierce anger will turn away from the people of Israel." So Moses ordered Israel's judges to execute everyone who had joined in worshiping Baal of Peor. Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into the camp, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as they were weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle. When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly. Then he took a spear and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man's body and into the woman's stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped, but not before 24,000 people had died. Murder
At the customary time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, "O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. They put the man in custody until the LORD's will in the matter should become clear. When the king of A.I. saw the Israelites across the valley, he and all his army hurriedly went out early the next morning and attacked the Israelites at a place overlooking the Jordan Valley. But he didn't realize there was an ambush behind the city. Joshua and the Israelite army fled toward the wilderness as though they were badly beaten, and all the men in the city were called out to chase after them. In this way, they were lured away from the city. There was not a man left in A.I. or Bethel who did not chase after the Israelites, and the city was left wide open. Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Point your spear toward A.I., for I will give you the city." Joshua did as he was commanded. As soon as Joshua gave the signal, the men in ambush jumped up and poured into the city. They quickly captured it and set it on fire. When the men of A.I. looked behind them, smoke from the city was filling the sky, and they had nowhere to go. For the Israelites who had fled in the direction of the wilderness now turned on their pursuers. When Joshua and the other Israelites saw that the ambush had succeeded and that smoke was rising from the city, they turned and attacked the men of A.I.. Then the Israelites who were inside the city came out and started killing the enemy from the rear. So the men of A.I. were caught in a trap, and all of them died. Not a single person survived or escaped. Only the king of A.I. was taken alive and brought to Joshua. Kill Followers of Other Religions

Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into the camp, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as they were weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle. When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly. Then he took a spear and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man's body and into the woman's stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped, but not before 24,000 people had died. Murder

I see you have your binary blinders on. Where did you get them? Oh that's right, at your local Christian bookstore. (Hint: the binary vision you paint reality with is part of your fantasy world.)

I have known both atheists and various stripes of believers throughout my life and there is absolutely no correlation between goodness and acceptance of any particular religious fantasy. So your list has no effect in establishing the virtue or reality of your particular sky fairy of choice. After leaving the LDS faith I failed to see any such downturn in my life as well.
