I like the music of 30's and 40's and most of 50's --- as well crime stories and movies of that era.
Raymond Chandler at the beginning, Singin' in the Rain at the end.

Sorry, pal, I have to disillusionize you...
The rotation speed of a gramophone has nothing to do with the measure of tempo in music.

Nothing.

Absolute nothing.

OK, it was a mistype.

As "c" and "s" are adjacent keys on keyboard...
--- or same sounds in American English ---
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

I remember that song from my early childhood when they played Pomp and Circumstance as famed wrestler Gorgeous George made his grand entrance into the ring.

On cable -- xfinity on Demand, TCM is showing the 1940 film version of Thornton Wilder's "OUR TOWN". It is worth a look and it is rather fun to note changes as time moves on in "our" little New England town... The characters are excellent and there is just the right amount of both humor and pathos. The play is considered the "perfect" play. This is a black and white film ---- but then so is "It's a Wonderful Life". This does seem to really fit the script, as a stage production usually has only period costuming with minimal scenery and sets. I was once a character in a college production of this play. Is presents "God" without hitting anyone over the head, as well as the frailties or humanity. It is my hope that you will try to watch this wonderful, though very slightly altered presentation of this play.

You might git a kick out of this. I actually saw this program when it aired in 1963. I love the song and I did see Sister Act and enjoyed the song all over again. Enjoy:

Thanks LittleNipper - sweet clip.

I think I may have already mentioned Hallelujia https://youtu.be/LTx8IGPwrIk by Canadian Tenors, but I just found this one: "Lead with your heart." https://youtu.be/_En2FVuIzhM
