You really need to stop talking about people's bodies like they're made of candy. It gives off a creeper vibe.

If recoil is a concern go to a 20 Guage or such with #6 buckshot.

1. That actually isn't necessarily true at all....
Both Shotgun pellets and a .223 or 5.56 round will in fact BOTH go though walls basically exactly the same.
It seems counterintuitive, but there's reasons for that. The 5.56 for example powder and round design is designed to start "fragmenting" upon impact, and thus it starts to lose it's energy. Shotgun pellets "don't" lose their energy (which is why they are known for their power), but of course they way they are designed they eventually starting losing power after going through more things and/or the distance involved.
Overall, there is really no "safe" gun for shooting in a home.
The Handgun for example is the worst of the 3 in penetration (meaning the strongest) and thus worst for home usage, even though it's the most common and practical weapon for home/self defense usage only.
So, if you're worried about shooting through walls, the AR-15 and the Shotgun are your best option.
If your walls have insulation, etc. in between the drywall, or wood paneling, the AR-15 is actually the best option.
The shotgun is pretty much the same either way, not really at all "safer" than the AR-15.
And if any of you don't believe me on any of this, simply Google "which goes through a wall, an AR-15 or a shotgun" and you will see a bunch of articles and videos on the subject.
2. Yes, like I originally said.
Further, I also originally stated that "recoil" can be mitigated due to proper techniques of holding 12 Gauges etc.
But the fact of the matter is that for a "woman" in self defense, Shotguns except for 20 gauges are not a "wise" choice. Being trained can certainly mitigate the issues, but still, the issues are there.
And I shot my first shotgun skeet shooting when I was 10, so what.
No matter how you "mitigate" all the problems and limitations to the shotgun, it still overall is not the best choice overall for home defense.
There is a reason people are choosing the AR-15. It's not because they are "assault weapons" (of course you liberals were trying to tell me before they are ONLY "Varmint guns" LOL when I talked about the .223 which is the exact same round), it's because they are the best "all around" weapon to have for the home, be it for self defense, hunting, potential war, etc.

Now there's a comment that was long overdue. Well stated.

Self-defense is typically done in close proximity, closed spaces, and you don't have much time to react. A shot gun doesn't require much aim, will eliminate the threat, and doesn't have much kick. A rifle is much like a handgun in close quarters combat and it's easy to miss your target, and if it's a 5.56 round may not stop the attacker.ldsfaqs wrote:This video for example takes an experienced female shooter with primarily handguns, and yet she was trying to aim with the shotgun, etc., and yet ONLY one pellet hit the target, in contrast to the AR-15 in which every shot hit, and it didn't hurt to shoot it, so she didn't like the shotgun.

The shotgun is basically the WORST self defense weapon one could use and have.
Sure, in a very specific instance and circumstance very close up, it CAN be effective for doing damage, but overall with distances, skill levels required, ease of use and rounds, it's frankly the WORST to have, because self defense situations are more fluid. The "shot gun is the best home defense weapon" MYTH is from old thinking some 40 years ago that was popular promoted. It however with true experts is a joke.
Anyway. Based off your online and in real life history I don't believe you've fired a shotgun or have any sort of training with shotguns so you're pretty much a fat “F” running his fat damned jowls who has watched YouTube and now thinks he is an expert on something he can't comprehend.
