Hey Jersey Boy! Nice to see you here! We here at the homestead are great. Managed to get through the pandemic with no illness, hope the same for you! So yeah, there's 3 Dehlin threads right now. One posted after the other as stuff happened. The first thing was a kind of expose' on the Rosebud situation where text messages between her and Dehlin were released. Then Rosebud unleashed all hell. Created a special website, sent some guy jpatterson here as her proxy, she posted a ton of weird stuff on her Facebook including fund raisers. Dehlin himself actually posted on that one. All kinds of sub-topic stuff being examined and discussed. Sexual harassment, business dealings, income, taxes, deciphering the intent of messages in context of events. The second thread was about his problematic behavior including a social media conflict that came up. Then we've got this Taveres (whatever) Stanfield (whatever) guy who did a tribute thread acknowledging Dehlin's accomplishments. So yeah, a lot of Dehlin threads.

So I just came in from outside hosing stuff down while fantasizing about drowning you in the humongous mud puddle I created and decided to clarify my reaction to your entrance here. Now. I don't know how many posts you made. The only two that I saw were criticisms of the Dehlin related threads. Crazy, obsessed. That sort of thing.

I honestly don't know how many threads there are here in Terrestrial. This Rosebud thread that I'm posting on was enough to break me out of Paradise where we are regularly discussing mainly the pandemic and politics. Stuff that's relevant to us, because I'm interested in the psycho-social aspects of the whole affair and now, Dehlin's social media behavior because...behavior is my middle name.

Anyhow, so yeah, new board. Most of us have continued posting right through the malfunctions of the old board until this one came online a ton of people ponied up money for the needed registrations and whatnot. Still looking at archiving the old board which is now basically unusable, but trying to save, again...threads that are relevant to people. Example, my small contribution was transferring grindael's threads over here right after he passed away. Still have one small bit to go, but it's hard to get to them given the status of the old board, but I will do it eventually here.

So yeah. People here have continued posting right through various lock downs and while working remote, some folks have died, some folks have gotten ill, lots of folks reporting on their vaccine side effects, news about the virus, I guess folks here up in Terrestrial posting about Peterson (not my cup of tea) and all sorts of things that are relevant to them. Still a diverse collection of posters, some just taking a break from in real life, some raising issues, some raising hell, some alone, some mentally ill, some who can't sleep, some just I dunno...here because they like the place.

Notice the repeated use of the word relevant. Pandemic, politics, me and my behavior junkie leanings, Dehlin, Open Stories Foundation, Rosebud....you know, whatever issues have been raised within these three threads. Because (get this) they are relevant to people in much the same way that the pandemic and political other issues are relevant to people on this board.

That's why we have a board.

So why does anyone care what is being discussed on this board? Redundant? Not intellectually stimulating? Not of interest? If that is the case, then people can leave here or start a topic that is of interest to them. No really, people can do that. I mean, I even have a thread discussing rock n' roll in the Paradise forum because it's of interest to me. Has lots of views but not a lot of comments so I don't know where the views are coming from but I like the topic. Ronnie Wood has just beat back (we think) his second bout of lung cancer. I want to know these things. I want to discuss them. Who cares what I want to discuss or post about or take seriously or joke about or anyone else here?

I don't know. I think you have a lot of e-friends here. Certainly you and I go back probably decades by now. I think you have the respect of many. Probably have some personal critics as well. We all do. I can think of a lot of ways you could have blown into this board and none of them have anything to do with criticizing what has taken place when you weren't here or how others choose to use their spare time in lock down, remote working, or just in daily life while dreaming about drowning you in a mud puddle.

When the old board dies I tried for quite some time to find this new board. No success. I stumbled onto it recently when a few Facebook friends that post here posted something about the Dehlin Rosebud thread. Thus I found the new address and signed up today. This is not a slight to you or anyone. My time on Mormon discussion boards is quite a bit less for a variety of reasons which I don't want to go into in detail. But one is debating things Mormon is less interesting to me than it once was and has seemed mostly a futile effort. I try to read other things. Since you and I do go way back if you want, send me a private message and I can give you my new email address and we can catch up privately.
