You don't seem to get the fact that these people arrived to a port of entry to turn themselves in, but that port was closed thanks to Trump. That is why they were forced to "wander in the desert." They had gone days without food or water and the little girl died after they turned themselves in to border patrol. These idiots gleefully kick over water depots to make it harder on these people. They close ports to make it harder. Blaming the father without knowing the circumstances they left, because you're a damned racist piece of crap, is par for the course.
About eight hours after being taken into custody — before Border Patrol transferred the asylum-seekers to a station in Lordsburg, New Mexico — Nery Caal reported to officials that his daughter was vomiting and running a high fever — later charted at 105.9. Officials reportedly ignored his concerns for a full hour-and-a-half.
According to NBC, by the time the migrants arrived at their destination 90 miles away, Jakelin had started having seizures and stopped breathing. At this point, emergency responders reportedly came to the border station, where they revived Jakelin twice, then air-lifted her to a hospital in El Paso, Texas. It was, however, too late. Within hours, she died at the hospital of cardiac arrest with her father by her side, per a statement from CBP. She had “reportedly had not eaten or consumed water for several days.” The Post reports that her cause of death was septic shock, fever, and dehydration.
The number of migrant deaths rose by about 20 percent from 1998 to 2016, while the number of those captured crossing illegally plummeted 70 percent during the same period, ProPublica reported last year. A significant source of the problem is the effort by authorities to deter migrants from using “easy-to-cross, hard-to-police urban corridors,” and instead push them “into barren, isolated terrain,” the outlet wrote.
This year, asylum-seekers trying to ask for help at ports of entry have faced increasingly long wait times, sometimes being told they must wait in Mexico for weeks or months.
Those policies contribute to people trying to get to the U.S. through other means, Amnesty International Tactical Campaigns Manager Ashley Houghton said in a statement.
“What wouldn’t you do to save your family’s life? This child’s father made a dangerous journey spanning almost 2,000 miles in hopes of ensuring safety and security for himself and his daughter,” she said. “When ports of entry are all but closed, forcing asylum seekers to wait for weeks just to seek protection, families will be forced into taking more dangerous routes to reach the United States.”
We discussed this weeks ago about closing ports to deter people and thinking they'd just get tired of waiting and turn back. But the fact that they're not waiting is evidence of them being genuine asylum seekers. It proves they are every bit as desperate as they claim. Trump's DHS is just breaking the law by refusing to allow them to file for asylum by closing ports and diverting them into the desert where.... gee, I wonder what could happen? Now we know.

Chris Cuomo did a rundown on CNN. I wish I had a screenshot of his bullet summary. He said that the girl’s fever was reported to the Border Patrol when she was on the bus. When the bus arrived at the detention center, she was attended to by EMTs. She was then airlifted to a hospital, where she died later.
I really can’t find fault with how the border patrol handled the situation. I also see no evidence that the Border Patrol destroyed any water that had been left along the route. I’m unclear as to whether they are still doing that. If they are, it should stop.
I’d like to think that speedier processing of asylum seekers at ports of entry could prevent this kind of tragedy.
But I’m afraid that as the number of climate refugees increases, we’re going to see lots more suffering and dead kids at the border.

I'm sure it's on youtube, I'll find it and watch. We don't know her cause of death. So far as I'm concerned (at the moment) Kevin pulled the video about the water jug claim out of his butt to support his theory that border patrol essentially killed the child via neglect=Trump killed her.
Hell of a way to put together evidences.
Unless you are someone who is hell bent on finding what you're looking for, I'm not seeing sings of neglect yet.

The video was posted on Twitter today, and it went viral. I’d bet that’s where Kevin got it.

I recant!!! What I saw was not official — an autopsy has been scheduled.
She arrived with a group of 163 folks at a remote border crossing in the desert. It was closed for the night. They surrendered to the three folks that were at the crossing. There were no medical personnel present.

Um...tox tests typically take 6-8 weeks to return. It's probably going to be some time before it's made public.

Can’t they use that really fast lab on CSI?

Speaking from in real life experience, I don't think that's how it works. Sorry. Good luck keeping the topic in your head for the next coupla months. I'll try.
