why bother to show you that? because when I do you have already offered your dismissal of any facts in the following:

DoubtingThomas wrote: Even if it does, a concrete wall would probably cost trillions of dollars.

which is funny, because the estimates by CBO etc have a concrete wall in lieu of the steel one being only about 2 times the cost...or .02 of 1 percent of the budget...heck, lets make it 5 times the cost of the steel fence and we are still not even close to 1 trillion, let alone "trillions".
Good thing you aren't confused by things like cost overruns and maintenance...

DoubtingThomas wrote: Building an effective concrete wall would take decades and would be too expensive. We can use our time, money, and resources on something way better.

Yeah, because walking and chewing gum is hard. Nobody wanted to build all those dams either, because people would still drown in those lakes they formed (you really should watch "Wild River" with Montgomery Clift)...heck even Hoover Dam took 5 years (2 years ahead of schedule) and almost $650m of todays dollars to build (and people died building it)….don't even get me started on how long States took construct Interstate highways (coast to coast I-80 took 30 years bruh).

but i like that you admit "an effective concrete wall" could exist - thanks!

no it wasn't, never was - in fact you're so entrenched you really believe this is anybody's argument. You say stuff like this when we all already know your posts are uninformed emotional spittle from Maddow's dat old toot.

No emotion needed to comprehend basic English. From the link you refused to click on:

Cuomo: A wall isn't going to stop illegal drugs from coming into this country and you know that
Conway: That's ridiculous!

And then the tweet above from our Moron in Chief, saying a wall will "stop them cold."

And then you recently argued that a wall works because it works in Israel.

But in your little universe, I must be getting "emotional" for being able to properly describe the arguments presented by morons like you three.

Your argument so far is "waaaahhh" and "if Trump proposes it then no" and "if its not perfect then why do it" and now suddenly you are starting to hint that you do believe in stopping people from entering illegally, but that is most effectively achieved with drones and a smartphone app.
geez, no wonder you live in Cherokee county.

Suddenly? I've been saying from day one to fund border security. But to morons like you, border security means whatever Lord Trump says, no matter how costly, ineffective and divisive. In fact I think it is the last one that makes it all worth while for you.

Face it, you're forced to shift your ground after weeks of arguing for a wall because the evidence overwhelmingly proves it is a useless piece of matter that serves absolutely no purpose other than to give a bunch of Trumper morons fodder for them to his social media about how they're 'winning." That's all it is. Trump even agreed not to fun the wall as recently as December, and he didn't even try the first two years of his administration because he knew it was just a joke all along. But thanks to the wicked witch of Fox News, he quickly changed his mind and hundreds of thousands of American are suffering for it.

This idiotic wall is clearly, only, red meat for the MAGA-seniors-FOX crowd, who might still be stuck in 1950's racist America. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Also, if Trump continues to push it while keeping the government shut down .... maybe that might be cause for impeachment.

He really needs to work out a deal with the Democrats and move on.

It is "possible" to build an effective concrete wall, but it would have to be a wall at least 200 meters wide and 50 meters deep.

Maybe, but that wouldn't be an effective wall.

Actually, that has been Trump's argument, no?

...The Steel Barrier, or Wall, should have been built by previous administrations long ago. They never got it done - I will. Without it, our Country cannot be safe. Criminals, Gangs, Human Traffickers, Drugs & so much other big trouble can easily pour in. It can be stopped cold!

(My emphasis)

It was a political stunt to gather support of people who have no idea of the real problems. It also serves as some distraction from what Trump is really doing.

Yup.

When you see that a particular policy that you maybe haven't thought about much before, and which vaguely sounded a good idea when a pollster asked about it, has become a favourite rally slogan of a man as obviously weird and unpleasant as Trump, and a favourite mass chant of the kind of people who advocate the imprisonment of their political opponents, it certainly makes you reconsider it rather seriously, and with particular attention to its possible downsides and flaws.

And the wall is the kind of policy that, when looked at close up, really does have a lot of downsides and flaws to it, as has been explained in detail on this and on other threads. So it's hardly surprising that the association of the border wall with Trump, and the resultant huge increase in public discussion of it, has led to a lot of people deciding that, after all, it isn't such a great idea.

Holy crap, subs, you can’t even get the date of Trump’s nomination by the party correct.

No points for you with this fake graph.

Expenditures can be assessed by how effective they could or will be. But neither subs nor the Prez can tell us the return we’ll get for tens of billions spent on this expenditure.

It’s purely a face-saving quest by Trump at this point, and that kind of expenditure isn’t worth tens of billions of dollars.

Yep, Democrats - not really thinking about policy until a Republican brings it up.
