Pardon the interruption, but I am unclear how your understanding of history concludes with how "Native Americans", being of 500 tribes and recognized as (at least) 6 different ethnic groups, suffered any sort of genocide. While I am unclear on how well you understand the history, tradition, and culture of human war, settlements, colonies, etc - it seems that your position towards N.A. people is a bit ironic...kinda like hating fossil fuels while rationalizing the practicality of your gas fueled automobile and running your house on power from a coal-fired power plant. But hey I get it, one of the most remarkable qualities of white people is their ability to self loathe from unlocked but gilded cages.

I don't even know how you are making the distinction in your mind here. Your own argument contends that Confederate flag waving is generally fine. Your argument contends that most racist expression is fine, because most people express racism through channels that don't intend to communicate racial contempt. Casual prejudices generally aren't contemptuous. It's more insidious than that.
What was evident in the videos was a handful of kids doing the tomahawk chop in response to the drumming. This was not wide-spread and clearly in the context of most of the kids engaging with the drumming through bouncing, clapping, or any of the other things people do to a rhythm because rhythm. Nothing in my point says doing the tomahawk chop is "just fine". My argument is treating a kid who did it in that context the same as if he had shown up wearing jack boots and a red arm band with the intention to disrupt a native American demonstration because of his white nationalist views is bananas. And it interferes with the ability to explain to the kid in question why doing the tomahawk chop is offensive when he is doing it as a response to drumming, getting slagged on, and the people around him shouting racist insanities are more or less getting a pass.
That's not how you teach people. It's a pretty good way to make things worse than they already are.

"MAGA" is the primary symbol of the most overtly racist political movement in the US in several generations that is already notorious for deeply shameful policies that were motivated by racial hostility. It already is seen as a symbol like the Confederate flag in other countries and will eventually be seen that way in the US provided we don't collapse into authoritarianism. People already can simply invoke "MAGA" as a racial taunt unto itself, which should tell you something about the symbolic power it already has. There will be lots of people currently bedecked in MAGA-gear who will deny to the ends of the earth they ever did that at some point in the future. And white supremacists will continue to see MAGA as a symbol of the glory-days. Yeah, I'm pretty confident about that one.
You're still trying to paint them as racists.
Yeah, who could possibly see anything racist about *checks notes* mock chanting and doing tomahawk chops to a Native American?
The most blatant racisim on display in those videos barely gets acknowledged.
Probably because there's universal agreement that it is bad, but they have zero influence on society and aren't a new phenomenon, so condemnation of it is implicit.

Coming back to this, because it should be apparent to anyone watching the longer video that their core views are actually your core views. They focus on the kids wearing the hats and call them all sorts of names because of it including little clansmen. Who is influencing whom aside, their views are prolific as “F” apparent. And you've got a potentially terminal case of them given how deeply it seems to be rooted.

The kid in question didn't even engage in the egregious sin of the tomahawk chop. He just stood there, probably bewildered and eventually a bit resolute, and as evidenced in the video I posted actually intervened when another student began to argue with a racist NA protestor and told him to cut it out.
The mental gymnastics on this one is so astounding I'm actually bemused at this point.
We're in bizarro world where lying adults can act like assholes toward teens and the teens, one teen in particular, are the perps because of the color of their skin, their current privilege, and future potential as privileged males.

You know what, EA? Why don't you share the part of the video you find most offensive. Maybe that will help illuminate why the kids in the video should feel deep, intense shame.

That's utterly dishonest. I am defending an assertion I made that is secondary to my main point because you brought it up, and you use the fact that I reply to the comment you made as proof that it is the real issue?
