Get ready in whatever way you can. It’s not going to be smart to lie in your financial release. Get it done honestly. Hopefully the person you’ve got on as an accountant right now won’t be willing to bend for you.

Yes, well, I don’t think any of it should be a subject for discussion.

Indeed. Lots of spooky and no evidence. And, honestly, this is exactly the wrong place to come without evidence. It is also the wrong place to come to interact with JD. I can’t remember the last time he posted here.

Question. How long do you traditionally have to boil the bunny before it's considered done?

I don’t disagree.

Although, I’d add that I don’t see the same personal attacks on this who love to critique and speculate about Peterson’s finances and ventures as I see attacked on Rosebud.

For many here, a blowhard like Peterson is fair game, but a blowhard like Dehlin isn’t.

Couple of things:

1. There is the tribalism factor. John is a fellow ex-Mo.

2. There is the personal grudge factor. I am unaware that anyone here has admitted to having a personal beef with Peterson in the way Rosebud has admitted to a personal beef with Dehlin.

The latter undercuts Rosebud’s criticisms of Dehlin. She could regain credibility by conducting an evidence-driven critique of Dehlin, but she doesn’t seem to be able to, for one reason or another. This reinforces the sense that she is engaged in a personal vendetta.

That is the way many posters want the threads to be seen... so they work to make that a reality. Weak-minded people follow. Others do not.

Each person sees what they want to see. Most begin by believing or disbelieving based on their own life experiences and biases. Some are wise enough to take a step back and consider before following the trains of thought of those who know little.

In the end, what really matters is the higher priorities.

John, that’s the direction I’m walking in... the direction of the higher priorities. I have work to do and I am going to get it done regardless. I’m very persistent, no? This is more important than any of the other ex-Mormon crap.

I don't see and don't follow anything Dehlin posts online. I'm fairly certain if more of his stuff were posted, and it was outlandish or just plain weird it'd get more attention. Mr. Peterson's blog regularly posts anti-science and apologetic material so it's of interest to ex-Mormons unsurprisingly.

You do make a fair point, though. It might be worth it to look into Dehlin to see if he's mirroring a cult of personality for personal financial gain in addition to cultivating a Joseph Smith like following.

If JD more than doubled his salary one year over the next, I think it would be interesting to discuss. However, I'm not ready to do that unless I have at least some reason to believe he has done so.
