Does Gina Colvin really need to be afraid of the big bad Midgley?

Whether he poses a threat or not is beside the point.

True, it's only decent to give her a heads-up that there's a good chance this guy will only be unpleasant and so she might not want to make that any easier for him. It's just that I'm getting the feeling that a lot of posts here about Midgley are making him out to be a powerful villain, whereas I think he tilts more weird and sad.

Ah, yes. Well, she knows who Lou is and I doubt she is at all concerned. She knows he is kind of an unpleasant weirdo. This thread, at least to my understanding, is more about the wisdom, or lack thereof, of allowing unpleasant weirdos to act as defenders of the Church’s “honor.” The whole thing is creepy, unprofessional, and wholly inappropriate, and yet there he goes, acting up as he is wont to do, with seeming impunity.

He could try to make a distressing scene, I suppose, but what's that going to do to Colvin? Give her sore eyes from rolling?

So, she has found some peace, but is also having a bit of fun at Nelson's expense--what with his bizarre shunning of the "Mormon" label.

It makes sense that Satan coopted the name Mormon, since it means "more good" in the Reformed Egyptian language. Sort of like Satan coopting the Reformed Egyptian word Interpreter ("Inter" meaning between and "Preter" meaning fictitious defense).

She seems to be okay with anything that isn't orthodox LDS.

Becoming, in addition to an Anglican, also a newly minted member of the Community of Christ, and also having her name removed from the membership records of the Church of Jesus Christ fits very snugly her hostility to the faith of Latter-day Saints, does it not?

That's an interesting perspective. Now, if somebody had their name removed from the Anglican church and joined the LDS church, does that indicate hostility toward their former Christian beliefs?
