It's both illegal and unethical to fire people in retaliation for blowing the whistle, so no, the President cannot simply fire people at a whim just because they are related to someone who told the truth after obeying a lawful subpoena.

And, if you say to yourself, "obviously the President can because the President did" then you are committing a category error. The complaint here is with the impropriety of the action and the lack accountability for it, not a dispute over what powers the President is exercising in defiance of the law and moral principle.

1) Why would LTC Vindman want to look into the Bidens with regard to national security?
