Re: Pandemic: Life on the ground
I had my booster (i.e. the third, six months after the second) Pfizer injection a couple of days ago, on the same day as my flu injection for the coming season.
I was rather tired for the 24 hours afterwards, but today I feel fine.
Frankly, I welcome such reactions, on this as on previous occasions, since they show that my immune system has been challenged and gone to battle stations - hence ensuring that it will have a well-prepared response to a real attempt at viral invasion at any future time.
And whatever we experience after these shots, a real COVD infection has the potential to be far, far worse.

My body ached. I had a low fever. I felt sick for a couple of days. It was no fun!Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 3:01 amWas it just the fatigue, Kish? Or did you have additional side effects? Wow this third shot knocked me on my behind!

I actually got Covid early on and I've been vaccinated since. Also I turned septic a couple of days after I got the second Moderna shot and thought it was side effects. I went to work septic (I'm a nurse by the way) and my boss sent me to the ER. It turned out I had a perianal wound infected with cellulitis. That was last January and my wound finally healed earlier this month.Kishkumen wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 11:28 amMy body ached. I had a low fever. I felt sick for a couple of days. But may we take it that you think the increased/prolonged immunity was worth it?Kishkumen wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 11:28 amMy body ached. I had a low fever. I felt sick for a couple of days. I think those of us who mention the short-term side effects of boosters would do well to make it plain to the silent readers of this forum that, if eligible, they should definitely still get their boosters, since the increased and prolonged protection against COVID gained thereby is such a huge benefit compared to the mild symptoms suffered by the great majority of those who get booster shots.
I'm not of course suggesting that you personally feel otherwise. But there are people who might see your post (and that of Jersey Girl) and say "Hmm. Don't like the sound of that. Think I'll pass it up till I know more ...". And then of course they just don't get boosted, and ...

I don’t often think of the silent readers of this forum, but for the record, yes, there is no question that it was worth it. I got vaccinated as soon as I could at each stage of the process.Chap wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 12:36 pmBut may we take it that you think the increased/prolonged immunity was worth it?

I’m the dummy who has hit middle age and has not had a colonoscopy yet. Dear silent readers of this forum,
please do not think the rest of us are as condescending as Chap. If you can read this, you are probably smarter than anyone that thinks you can’t think for yourself.

LOL. Yes, it happens on occasion.
