Absolutely nothing wrong with smart guns. I have biometric safes in my house. They can hold up to 40 finger prints allowing multiple people access. What are your plans for the 400 million guns are already in America that aren't smart guns?K Graham wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 5:35 pmThe funny thing is the NRA types should be embracing this, but they don't. I notice none of the trolling responses have addressed this issue. The charts make it clear there are very, very few instances of defensive use of a gun, but the video clip fanatic seems to have found them all. How can you have a conversation with all the chaff rolling around??anyway, the Smart gun program has a lot of potential I think, but that would take a very long time to be fully effective.
(I'm sorry your thread about your friend got run over by the troll brigade. You, and they, deserve better.)

Re: Guns in America
If every gun produced today is a smart gun then those will eventually be phased out. It is a process that will take decades, maybe centuries, but it can happen if we get the ball rolling now. Hell, I'd even be OK with AR-15's if I was assured ONLY THE REGISTERED OWNER could fire it.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 5:43 pmAbsolutely nothing wrong with smart guns. The point of agreement is that bad people kill.
So... lets get those people away from guns. Violent criminals shouldn't be allowed to ever own a gun again. If they can have their right to vote removed, they should have the right to guns removed too.

Alcohol can be blamed for thousands of vehicle crashes every year. Alcohol kills more people than guns do. You can't be a serious advocate for gun control when you support alcohol consumption.

Would you feel the same about alcohol? Permanently suspending driver's licenses and making alcohol consumption illegal for those who were caught drinking and driving?

Jesus Christ! I asked you, " So would you agree the US needs stricter gun control laws? ".
Let me try again, would you support a high-capacity magazine ban?

I just wanted to point out the double standard. He doesn't care about his fellow man when it comes to alcohol and coffee.

I would only support that in cases with repeat offenders who have taken a life. But alcohol doesn't cause violent behavior most of the time and it certainly doesn't cause rape. That's just something people choose to do, while blaming alcohol. I started drinking a few years ago and my wife says she actually likes me when I'm drunk.doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 9:41 pmWould you feel the same about alcohol? She says I'm the sweetest man alive during those moments.

Thanks. Don't you think that's an odd way to put the issue.doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 9:59 pm

DT: Alcohol and coffee cause some people suffering and death.
RI: I love my fellow man, except I have no love for my fellow man when I'm drinking a beer.

Does leaving a beer out on your coffee table result in a toddler’s violent death? It’s absolutely amazing to me how easily some folks resort to rhetoric because they don’t understand how levying violence either intentionally or through neglect isn’t a god-given right. The data ref gun deaths doesn’t lie. It’s a violence-using-guns issue.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 12:36 amThanks.
