Justin Trudeau's old man Pierre had a number of famous lines back when he was Prime Minister. One was about his response to then-ongoing domestic terrorism in Québec (the FLQ crisis). A media interviewer asked him how far he was prepared to go in curtailing civil liberties to maintain law and order. He replied, "Just watch me." Three days later he invoked the War Measures Act, declaring a form of martial law.

Canada tries to maintain a reputation for resolving conflicts peacefully. The standdown between federal authorities and the Mohawk First Nation at Oka eventually just wound down, for instance. Armored corps officers whom I knew at the time, however, were stationed nearby. They told me shortly afterward that they had been practicing driving Leopard tanks through car barricades, and finding that it was easy. The Canadian authorities were not actually prepared to let that standoff continue forever. I doubt they'll let this one go on indefinitely, either.

You are probably right.
I doubt the citizens and truckers are excited about martial law. They may have something to say about it again.

Former Detroit Police Chief and gubernatorial candidate James Craig on Friday announced his support for the Canadian trucker protest, infuriating Michigan Democrats.

“I stand with the truckers. I support all working people who are standing up for personal freedom. What we are seeing is a tremendous lack of leadership from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President Joe Biden and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer,” Craig said in a statement. “Instead of focusing on the protestors and demonizing the truckers, these career politicians should be focused on how their irresponsible pandemic response is hurting our economies.”



In response, Dana Nessel — Michigan’s Democrat attorney general — attacked him claiming he is not interested in law and order.

“Coming from a former law enforcement officer, I find this abhorrent. Laws should be applied and enforced equally to everyone, irrespective of the motivation of those in violation of the law,” Nessel alleged. “This is why so many now feel free to disregard statutes which keep our society safe.”

Craig fired back at Nessel, highlighting Democrat failures on law and order in the summer of 2020 when riots burned through the country.

“I agree that the law should be applied and enforced equally to everyone, irrespective of the motivation of those violating the law. That’s why I’m extremely disappointed by the silence and inaction of our Democrat leadership—including @GovWhitmer—during the riots of 2020,” Craig said.

Craig is running for governor in Michigan. Polling shows the race is close between Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) and Craig, according to January polling by EPIC-MRA.

My step Dad used to listen to Herman Cain all the time. Absolutely loved him. I remember when Cain was doing a commercial on the radio and a friend of his in the car (I was sitting in the back) didn't know it was Cain, but decided to make fun of his black accent. My Step Dad said, "Watch it now, that's not someone you criticize around me. That's a N*****r with his head screwed on straight."

Do you seriously believe a Nazi cares anything about what black people say unless they're somehow helping push their political agenda? These people like Owens, Thomas, etc are nothing but tools they use.
