Just, For the Love of God, Don't All of You Become Yankees Fans.
I am trying to predict what the next big thing will be for signaling virtues and warrioring justice. I don't want it to be that everyone gets programmed for the new thing around the all star break, but if that happens, please do not become Yankees or Sox fans. It will ruin too much. Be a Guardians fan!!!!!

The Cleveland Native Americans changed their mascot and our now the Cleveland Guardians. They need more fans. The Yankees need less fans. The Red Sox already have the right fans.

I think the Chinese artist Yue Minjun shows it better.Binger wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 5:33 amI am trying to predict what the next big thing will be for signaling virtues and warrioring justice. Cracks me up how it's called "virtue signaling" when someone we disagree with does something. But when we do the same thing in a different context, it's just known as supporting a cause.

Yup.
Any kid who has been taught the elements of critical thinking soon learns to see through the 'fallacy of opprobrious description' through which moral judgements are smuggled into words or phrases that purport to be merely descriptive, such as 'virtue signalling' and 'woke'.

There’s over twenty professional/college teams that have removed Indian logos and Indian mascots because of the new “woke” BS we’re living with! Take the Washington Redskins for instance. In 1971, Native American Walter Wetzel convinced the redskins to remove the “R”from the teams helmet and replace it with an image of an Indian. A lot of native Americans saw the image as a way to promote their cause.
The new WOKE generation is racist as xxck!! They’re removing anything and everything from sports that has to do with native Americans.

To get this straight. You're saying that it was racist to remove the old Cleveland Indians logo.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 12:57 pm

Now, if you had just drawn that logo wearing a mask, they’d be horrified, and staging a protest.

So let’s say a white guy proudly wears one of these hats because of his love for the team he supports, is he a racist?Morley wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:49 pmTo get this straight. You're saying that it was racist to remove the old Cleveland Indians logo.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 12:57 pm

Let’s say a white guy won’t wear one of these hats because he doesn’t like the fact his favorite team is represented by a man with dark skin, is he a racist?
Let’s say a Native American wears one of these hats because he appreciates the fact a bunch of white people think his people were such mighty warriors, they’re willing to have their favorite team represented by a Native American. Is he wrong? Is he a sellout to his own people because he doesn’t follow woke ideology?

None of that has anything to do with my implied question.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 3:33 pm

You charged that "The new WOKE generation is racist as xxck!! They’re removing anything and everything from sports that has to do with native Americans."
I questioned whether it was indeed racist to remove the old Cleveland Indians mascot. You seem to be saying that it was.
So, for clarification, I'll ask again: Was it racist to swap out the old Cleveland Indians logo?
