I thought this all was an invitation to have some fun and share a few thoughts about music and culture.

well what i see is that the social issues in the song are too hot for television of the time so they bring on some older guy to act silly on a bike and make a joke out of the whole thing.MeDotOrg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 2:26 amYes we see.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 11:14 pm13 years ago. doubtingthomas, I suspect that Rockabilly is a flexible category. I checked Wikipedia and found it starts out talking about Jimmy Rodgers and Blind Lemon Jefferson. That is definitely background background for country music electrically amped up for play in bars.doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 2:00 amIt is. Please share. I am fond of Hank Williams Sr., Lefty Frizzel, Earnst Tubbs, thinking of the more country side of the music family.
I like to listen to Blind Lemon Jefferson from time to time.

Me Dot Org, you have expressed a bit of concern about rock and roll stars and underage girls. I realize that is a real thing with more than just one star. I really do not have an understanding of that. Stars loose perspective and judgement. With Elvis it seems to be a deeper psychological attachment. I guess.
I remember thinking or wondering a few times during the 50s if rock and roll encouraged people to bypass clear judgement in decision making. It might be noticed that power wealth and fame may encourage that in all sorts of contexts not just music.
