Lugging a laptop into Starbucks

Hubby and I are at Starbucks waiting for time to pass before we are due to present for our yearly eye exams. It has always struck me as weird that people would lug their laptops into Starbucks to sit in some hard chairs just long enough to sip on their beverage of choice, then leave.
