It's Mitch unable to let go of power. And even though we're not allowed to talk about anyone other than Mitch in this thread, it's pretty willful ignorance to pretend Mitch McConnel is the only one afflicted with this eternal and insatiable hunger for power and authority.
You're right, what if Mitch was unable to grasp that he lost the Kentucky election and led a coup against the Statehouse in Frankfort?!!! Of course, maybe he grasped it, but either his outsized ego or the CCP and his wife forced him to persist and be a pain in the A.

My memory says that Mitch's largest accomplishments are standing in the way of something blocking it from happening. (supreme court nominations) Him standing there mute is sort of a fitting continuation of his accomplishments.

“Trump’s a pussy.”

They’re DeSantis voters, by the way.

Funny, I didn't see any young republicans at the capital on Jan. 6.
Well one nonviolent capital trespasser did commit suicide rather than serve 20 years in the gulag. Perhaps that will lift your spirits. Big win for partisan political justice!
As with most things MAGA related, this is piece of fact, mixed with as much fiction as necessary in order to foment impotent political rage. The longest sentence thus far for any of the insurrectionist traitors was 18 years. Not a single person has been sentenced to 20 years, least of all Matt "It’s not over, trust me, the purpose of today was to expose Pence as a traitor" Pena. Pena hadn't even been sentenced when he took his own life. You referring to federal prison as a gulag is interesting. Glad to see you're a liberal in favor of prison reform.

Curiously, I've never seen you post about the four police officers who killed themselves because of the psychological and physical trauma they endured at the hands of the insurrectionists.

The Insurrectionists are the MAGA heroes. Both Trump and DeSantis will free them and seek a parade in their honor.

I think everyone should want Mitch to hang around until at least the 2024 elections. He's a terrible no good very bad man but he's not going to actively try to overthrow the government and until Trump is beaten again he's better as an institutionalist than a GOP Senate led by Rick Scott or someone worse. I say that as a Kentuckian who has never not known Mitch as my Senator and will drink happily when he retires.
