Re: How old are they now?
I clicked on you tube contemporary pop. there was a mechanically altered cutey voice with half a verse which was repeated over and over with a couple of sound loops. That is dead music. Stones are still alive.
I could be sure there is some good contemporary music but the comparison example makes a point for my ears.
What's the deal with one verse or half a verse songs these days (quite a few days, in fact). I walk into a local hardware store and the country music song has one verse, second verse same words as the first. And then why not repeat the whole two lines.....

What you hear at a Stones concert are the Stones. No autotune, nothing altered. Their sound system apparently sends out their performance (amplifies their amplifiers) to the stadium audience in waves so there is no delay between what they're playing/singing/saying and what you hear. If they screw up, they screw up and recover in a split second. They are real. They are raw. They are professional.huckelberry wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 10:24 pmI clicked on you tube contemporary pop. there was a mechanically altered cutey voice with half a verse which was repeated over and over with a couple of sound loops. And they are R&R Royalty.
Will try to shut it now so as not to derail Bracki's thread.

I don't actually know. My offspring ordered them and I said I didn't care how much they were.

I'll look and see if I still have it in my email. Please stand by.

Re: How old are they now?
Okay, so $471 each. That's quite a bit considering how far away from the stage you were, but clearly they could get away with it since they're the Rolling Stones.
Selfishly for me, Lovebites hasn't hit it big yet, so their tickets are still very cheap. My Dallas ticket was only $47 (admission, fees, and taxes included), while my VIP packages for Los Angeles and San Francisco were about $277 each (again, admission, fees, and taxes included).

Rolling Stones, the real thing. Here is an interesting discussion of the current music problem. Fellow has produced records and knows quite a bit about the music.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 10:51 pmWhat you hear at a Stones concert are the Stones. No autotune, nothing altered. I should have clarified that the point of the discussion is the development of A.I. produced hit records. no need to pay musicians!

They're iconic. They can command just about any price they want. I would have loved to be next to the stage except for the fact that you have to stand the whole time. I'd rather be somewhere I can sit through the ballads.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 7:45 amOkay, so $471 each. Wanna talk cheap? The first Stones concert I went to was $5.00 for a ticket.

You get let into the venue 30 minutes before non-VIP ticket holders, you get a meet-and-greet with the band members after the show, you get a photo taken of you surrounded by all the band members (then the photo is given to you), and you get some exclusive merchandise, which I think is a T-shirt and maybe one or two other things.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 8:04 amWhat's included in the VIP packages?Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 7:45 amSelfishly for me, Lovebites hasn't hit it big yet, so their tickets are still very cheap. That's great, but although I'm positive it doesn't equal $471 in 2024 dollars, what does the inflation calculator say that $5.00 was worth in 2024 dollars?Wanna talk cheap? The first Stones concert I went to was $5.00 for a ticket.

Plus, were you closer to the stage at that first one?
