"I have given this job my all, but you have sent a clear signal that the government of the United Kingdom must change, and yours is the only judgment that matters," Sunak said in a speech outside the prime minister's office in Downing Street.

"I have heard your anger, your disappointment and I take responsibility for this loss."

Sunak said whatever their disagreements, he respected Starmer as a "decent public-spirited man".

"He and his family deserve the very best of our understanding as they make the huge transition to their new lives behind this door," he said.

Indeed.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

My 6 year old who has speech issues (mildly), and who rarely asks questions or starts conversations has asked a single question 2 nights in a row with no explanation as to why she asks. But tonight she asked who won the most votes again. I said labour, she said no what's their name again. I said keir starmer and she said the name as clear as day. Clearer than her usual speech. I asked why and she didn't tell me why lol. Last night she asked what an ex girlfriend is, and again no reason.

She is funny. She listens to Charlie and the chocolate factory on audible every night. We have been listening to this every night for nearly a year.

Interesting take.

Was Sunak winning up to the point that hundreds of thousands of ballots were delivered and counted - all for his opponent? I know the answer. That was rhetorical. Just trying to put BS into context, that's all.
