Excellent post (Shade's well-intended criticisms notwithstanding)! As I have commented before, anyone who is "anti-woke" either has no clue about what "woke" really means, or they are incorrigibly hateful bigots!

I have become numbed to the meaning of certain words and phrases, and essentially see them as markers to alert me I'm listening to regurgitated thought (from most people):

- woke
- woke mob
- deep state
- uniparty
- communism/communist
- radical liberalism
- illegals
- cancel culture

I almost didn't open your thread because of it. I'm glad I did. I guess I'm not as numb as I thought, which is good, I suppose.

A factor being discussed recently is secularization of society and how this will affect the work of LDS missionaries. Hamblin's sparring partner Phillip Jenkins has an interesting video on why this is happening. "Secularization and the 'Nones' with Dr. Phillip Jenkins." "A transition is permanent not cyclical or reoccurring once out the toothpaste won't go back into the tube. Secularization is such a transition." The WOKE folk read books, study science, not dogmatic about their beliefs will change. Is being WOKE affecting this trend? The religious Philippine immigrants who come to Australia maintain the numbers in the Catholic church. The LDS churches in Australia seem to have a large number of south sea islanders in their leadership positions.
