Seriously? (Not being sarcastic, I am seriously asking if that's why you think we haven't)

The man has COVID, supposedly, and this may be a cover for exiting the race. Everyone may be scrambling to try to figure out next steps. They are desperate to beat Trump, but the chances of doing so are slimming down.

Sorry to learn that Biden has COVID (I didn't know that - Hope he will be okay) - What does that have to do with the FBI? Secret Service?
Anyway, I am bothered that these federal organizations haven't addressed the people days after an attempted assassination. Part of the problem in this country, in my opinion.

Re: Assassination Attempt - Secret Service - DEI
Why is it reasonable for you to expect one, especially now.
How long does it take the NTSB to come to conclusions about an airplane crash? A presser now would have no function.
Take a step back from trying to find things that look odd to you and think about the problems with telling the public what different actors were supposed to do and what they did wrong. Exactly how much information about the tactics the SS uses to protect the President and others do you want to put into the hands of other folks who decide to take a shot?
Demanding quick action is a recipe for getting bad results Being fully transparent about how the SS protects the President, former President Trump, and others teaches other would be assassins how to succeed.
Why not let people do their jobs? Assassination attempts are rare. This one is kind of a unicorn. On what basis should you have expected a press conference from anyone when it’s doubtful all the facts have been collected? The responsible agency is the SS. The head of that agency has spoken all that needs to be said right now: that security plans have been reviewed, that there were failures by the SS that are being investigated. Why isn’t that both a reasonable and sufficient response for an event less than a week old?
I have a question. Did you think up this question on your own, or did you first see a politician, media figure, influencer, or opinion leader ask a similar question?

Let’s turn that around. Why do feel entitled to an address to the people from someone other than … check notes … the head of the entire executive branch. I would submit that a larger problem is people feeling entitled to have the government meet their expectations.ceeboo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 2:27 amSorry to learn that Biden has COVID (I didn't know that - Hope he will be okay) - What does that have to do with the FBI? Why do you think you are entitled to hear from someone other than the head of the executive branch in the form you think you are entitled to? Why do you think your expectations are reasonable?

You really should apply for a job in politics.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 2:34 amWhy is it reasonable for you to expect one, especially now.

An attempted assassination of a former US President happened days ago. You don't think the Secret Service or the FBI or somebody in an official capacity can take a few minutes to address the nation?
I had assistance.I have a question. Did you think up this question on your own
Imagine an everyday American citizen (especially with a name like Ceeboo) wondering why I haven't heard from any federal source yet. I know, I should just keep paying my taxes and shut up.

I think it is reasonable to wonder why we haven’t heard from these agencies. I have no explanation. Seems to me there have been some seriously dropped balls in this whole thing, beginning with the failures in security at Trump’s PA rally.ceeboo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 2:27 amSorry to learn that Biden has COVID (I didn't know that - Hope he will be okay) - What does that have to do with the FBI? As for that being “part of the problem in this country,” I am not sure what you mean exactly. Open to hearing clarification.

Unbelievable! One of the big problems that this country faces.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 2:40 amLet’s turn that around. Citizens daring to ask for accountability. Having the gall to think that the elites need get off of their thrones and answer to little peons like me. They will tell me what they want and when they want. Or probably never.
"Check notes" - Good one!to an address to the people from someone other than . check notes . the head of the entire executive branch.
I know that's what you would submit. I would submit that your submission is why the people don't get answers and why powerful people are never held accountable for their job performance. Never.I would submit that a larger problem is people feeling entitled to have the government meet their expectations.

Having to have this very conversation - having to read all of the crazy suggestions about the event - having to guess - allowing the time and space for projection, insinuation, and innuendo to run wild - all of this is heavily rooted in the silence of the people that should be addressing the nation and it should have been done days ago.As for that being “part of the problem in this country,” I am not sure what you mean exactly. Open to hearing clarification.
Sincerely,
Entitled citizen.
