If Ceeboo had said that--that he wanted to raise racism and sexist concerns without being labeled sexist or racist, I think that it would have been perfectly legitimate. I think Dwight is saying the same thing. It's difficult to raise these concerns without being labeled or shut down. They can be delicate questions. At the same time, it shouldn't be assumed, that when folks dispute Ceeboo's suggestions or conclusions, that they are, in any way, suggesting or implying that Ceeboo is a racist or sexist. I don't believe anyone is.

and MK raised it without that good faith. So Ceeboo bought into her narrative and he is tainted by it. I didn't make him raise the issue.
I'm sure Ceeboo has had no problems with the SS deleting text messages that might implicate Trump around January 6th, and accepted the narrative, but when it comes to DEI he is super concerned.
I know you have history with him Kish, but as an outsider he is raising sexist and racist flags to me, and personally if someone thought that about me I would maybe pause and do some self-reflection rather than try and have my cake and eat it too.

I don't mean to come off as overly sensitive, but may I ask you to expand on your meaning here?
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

You have had posts between the two talking about PMs and such and that you have a history of like 10 years and to be able to put all of that into your interactions in the public posts on this board. Which I can totally respect. I have been a member of other boards and there is a different thing when you have history, or you have met in real life and can view posts in that context.
So I only have limited interaction with Ceeboo on this board, and all I have to judge him on is his posts that I have read. I do not have any image of him.
Does that contextualize what I am trying to say? I think it is good that you are friends and can communicate on another level. Honestly I know I have been flippant and too aggressive, but I have also started and stopped at least a dozen responses that were similar, that I think Ceeboo deep down is not coming to this from an honest place untainted by racism or sexism.

I agree that ceeboo is not coming from an honest place, but I'm unsure that it's a result of racism or sexism. If I had to guess, I think he's been inundated by right-wing talking points he is uncritical of and tends to ask questions based on nonsensical premises. He never shines the light on his own beliefs he wants everyone to shine on theirs.

You should not ignore these flags you are seeing, value your racism detector, stand firm and confront the racists on this board. Have courage and stand against racist like me.
Good on you, Dwight. Good on you.

Your racism detector is working fine, Dwight. No need to change batteries. I admire your courage to call a racist a racist.
We need more board members like you, good and honest people that are willing to do the right thing.

Remember to answer these, Ceeboo:ceeboo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 2:34 pmDoes the SS have a policy that wants 30 percent of their SS agents to be female by 2030? If yes, do you believe that this would be evidence? If yes, do you believe that it's legitimate to look into possible impacts that such a policy may or may not have on the duties and responsibilities of the agency?
- How do you prove that a DEI hiring practice is the reason why a person has made the decision that they did?
- What is the mechanism used in conjunction with the above that also rules out the possibility that any other person not deemed a ‘DEI hire’ would or could not have made the same decision from simple poor judgment?
You can dodge this question all that you want, but you’re going to need to figure these two things out first if you want your question and any answer you’d accept to be seen as serious, as opposed to being viewed as merely sensational grievance or poking around in the embers of racism.

canpakes brings up good points. Answering those questions would go to showing you actually are genuinely concerned and can come up with reasoning that isn't tainted with racism or sexism. I am not accusing you of being consciously racist/sexist, but it is very rare for a person to not have some on a subconscious level, especially depending on how/when/where they grew up.

I have a better idea, Dwight: Rather than me showing you something that will satisfy your superpower racism alarm that went off - You can just extend an apology to me for suggesting that someone you don't know is a racist. Then, because I am fairly decent human being, there is a very good chance that I would accept your apology, never bring it up to you again, and move on.
