A big AMEN to that! by the way, have you had a chance to look at the links I provided to Sheldon Whitehouse? If so, what do you think of him?
I was immediately embarrassed that I had forgotten him. He impressed me some time ago.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
By that metric, you'll be voting for Donald Trump.
You do know what an analogy is I am hoping.
Did George Washington lack governmental experience prior to becoming President, or didn't he?
Actually, he had governmental experience in the Virginia provincial legislature. Look it up.
Washington was an experienced statesman. It's the height of ignorance to imagine because he was our first president under the constitution that he came to office without political experience.
This is what happens when someone can't be bothered to read or otherwise take in information in long formats, and instead demands folks provide snippets they feel explain the matter as well as needed to have gained understanding.

It is, frankly, disappointing that folks shoot off posts with easily answerable questions when they have a miraculous database at their fingertips.

And he’s the best candidate running this cycle. Much better than that buffoon running on the Trump Party ticket.
In the same interview that this quote was taken from, Sander’s follows up with the following:
“… As a nation, we do a very poor job, both in Congress and in the media, of focussing on issues that impact the working class. So I would much prefer to have somebody who can’t put three sentences together who is setting forth an agenda that speaks to the needs of working-class people: raising the minimum wage, making it easier for workers to join unions, dealing with the existential threat of climate change, protecting women’s reproductive rights, building millions of units of affordable housing”.
I still say eff the Democrats. They suck, and they will probably lose. I hate our two-party system. We get a choice between mediocre and unconscionable.

Out of genuine curiosity what would your ideal President be doing?

And I still say your "eff the Democrats" stance is utterly meaningless because you'll be giving them your vote anyway. No boycott from you!

It is not utterly meaningless, Shades. Voting for some person who has not a snowball’s chance in hell to win, thus making it harder to defeat the most dangerous candidate in recent history is reckless. I regret that you will do that.

I’m not sure I follow, honor. In my view the problem is so much bigger than not getting the ideal president. The ideal president is still just one person.
