Re: Prediction: Bye, Bye, Biden
Canpakes little (fake?) Fox image reminded me of something I've noticed with referring to Harris in media outlets (left and right leaning alike).
The media doesn't refer to Biden as Joe/Joseph, or to Trump as Donald. It's Biden, or Trump. Yet with Harris, it's more often-than-not, Kamala.
Kind of an interesting subconscious misogyny of sorts.
Or maybe I'm noticing something that isn't really there? Lord knows my brain seems to misfire and find non-existent patterns and meaning more lately than it used to.

That graphic HAS TO BE doctored. No way. No way they actually showed such a thing.

I think you are right. Is it misogyny? It certainly isn't equality. Misogyny I would prefer to the actual hatred of women. Gender bias might be a better term for this stuff. Yes, there is a strong gender bias, and they should be called on it, and it should be fixed.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 3:31 pmCanpakes little (fake?) Call her Harris. Yes, Kamala is a nice sounding name, but treat her the same as any other candidate.

Gender may play a role but I'd put money on using Kamala over Harris is deeply tied to racial reasons too.

The image is doctored and several years old. I’ll clarify that on the original post as I was commenting more on Fox being over-the-top often enough.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 3:31 pmCanpakes little (fake?) Maybe. Or, maybe Harris is a boring name. I mean, it IS a boring name.

How soon until the right-wing starts calling her Obamala, seeing as that Obama is still the right wing’s excuse for every claimed bad thing happening in America?

If they aren’t already, don’t give them any ideas. They have so few.

Joe Biden is straight class and an authentic patriot.
I revere this office, but I love my country more ~ Joseph R. Biden, President of the United States of America
Nowhere else on Earth could a kid with a stutter from modest beginnings in Scranton, Pa., and in Claymont, Del., one day sit behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office as the president of the United States, but here I am.~ Joey Biden from Scranton

Re: Prediction: Bye, Bye, Biden
I found his speech a little disingenuous. He didn’t offer a reason why he is abandoning the campaign, and he didn’t offer justification why he is still capable of running the country for another 6 months.
These are more important issues than whatever platitudes he wants to impart. His speech sounds very similar to my grandmother’s after her stroke. I think questioning his ability to continue is prudent, and it’s frustrating that we continue to be stonewalled and gaslighted about his health.
