At least that's the rumors.

It s interesting how important coffee is in social connections. You meet someone for an issue it is over coffee. A major café here in my town is called Luv a Coffee. The local library has a coffee machine near where the newspapers are. I wish the lids were more secure (reminds me of Kramer's coffee accident in the movies "Who told you to put the balm on"?
Bach wrote a cantata called the coffee cantata. What is the story of Bach Coffee Cantata? Composed probably between 1732 and 1735, the cantata is essentially a miniature comic opera that tells the story of a disgruntled father, Schlendrian, who argues with his caffeine-obsessed daughter, Lieschen, about what he perceives to be her bad habit of indulging in too much coffee.
Liesgen:
Ah! how sweet coffee tastes!
Lovelier than a thousand kisses,
smoother than muscatel wine.
Coffee, I must have coffee,
and if anyone wants to give me a treat,
ah!, just give me some coffee!
I have read some things about the benefits of coffee in moderation.

Thanks, Noel! I hope you don't mind if I use this on the channel, with appropriate credit given to you, of course.hauslern wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 8:18 pmIt s interesting how important coffee is in social connections. Do you remember Louis Midgley coiling up its body, letting out a hissing sound, then launching at the camera with his fangs at the ready?
Good thing Kerry has the speed and reflexes of a ferret and could capture all of it on video. Now that FAIR has changed venues, Midgley cannot even enter the Lehi Rodeo Grounds due to the chupacabra.

Yes Eric Skousen on the age of the earth or something like that. I got through his first chapter. Kept the book, and will read it some day.

He and my dad were at BYU together. My dad also hung out with Wilford Griggs, back in the day when Griggs was doing Physics instead of Ancient History. In fact, my dad and Griggs liked to chat about Hugh Nibley, which is interesting when you consider where Griggs ended up.Philo Sofee wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 10:23 pmYes Eric Skousen on the age of the earth or something like that. Huh? What? What did I miss about where Griggs ended up? I thought he ended up in Egypt doing Egyptology.Kishkumen wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 12:42 pmHe and my dad were at BYU together. What I mean is that both Griggs and my dad were studying Physics and chatting about Nibley, and then Griggs shifted to doing something more like Nibley’s stuff.Philo Sofee wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:03 pmHuh?
