I thought the snippets of the DNC I saw were dope. I like the energy and direction they are taking.

One disappointing thing I'm seeing is many people rejecting Kamala
Precisely how many people have you seen doing that?

Jesse Waters at Fox. I think Putin from Russia wishes to destroy America through Trump, so he would reject Harris.

Pretty much everyone I know here in Utah rejects Kamala and will not be voting for her. It's safe to say that the only one in the 15 who will be voting for Kamala is Uchtdorf.

Yep. Plenty of Mormons, including DCP have changed their tune. Apparently “anyone but Biden or Trump” to them meant “anyone but Biden or Trump or Kamala.”

So they won't be voting at all, then? Or will they give Jesus a write-in vote?

I have a strong suspicion that hidden underneath all this there was always a settled determination to vote for Trump, but to say nothing much about it.

I do as well. They write all these articles about how awful Trump is and then they don’t vote against him. It’s shameful, and two-faced. But that’s par for MoPologists.

It's tragic that so many Mormons, as well as right-wing evangelicals ignore, or are incapable of seeing how antithetical Trump and hard-right "religious" policies really are to the teachings of Christ in whom they profess to believe! Almost everything they propose to do is almost exclusively designed to benefit and further enrich the wealthiest few of us, to the detriment of the middle and lower classes, especially the latter.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Did you watch it or are you just going off what the media you consume told you about it?

Trump being up with slightly better than 1:1 odds ahead of the suspected announcement RFK Jr will drop out and endorse Trump is meh. The odds markets are volatile for reasons. It tells you they think the news cycle will shift his way with the announcement and money is following. It will do something different next week, too.
I was really hyped up for it and felt disappointed. It should be expected given how quickly the party has had to pivot.

I wanted something more like Obama in 2008, that felt really weighty and historic. Kamala still can’t shake the feeling (in my opinion) that she kind of slid in and is still getting her bearings.

The end of her speech was particularly odd for me. “We must be worthy of this moment … our turn to do what generations before have done … uphold the awesome responsibility that comes with the greatest privilege on earth being an American.”

Just compare that with a speech Obama would have made. There’s something different and very jumbled about her message. I can’t put my finger on it.
I suspect you didn't actually watch it. It was pretty good as far as conventions go.

Same here. Harris is not doing badly if all that is being said about her is basically "I was kinda disappointed ... she was sorta ... well, you know?".

Anybody who tries that line should be asked: "Look, let's cut to the chase. Who do you think would be a better President for the US? Harris, or Trump. Because that is the only choice before you."
