This has become such an oft-repeated talking point at Trump rallies, so I’m curious how folks in his base interpret what’s happening and how they would choose to deal with it after the fact.
Trump says all kinds of outrageous crap like this, and his base buy it, despite never witnessing or hearing any stories of kids coming home from school a different gender. They've also never heard of a baby being aborted after birth, namely because that's commonly known as murder. They've never had a pet stolen for a Haitian's Sunday dinner.
And yet they allow themselves to not only buy it, but in some cases, actually repeat the nonsense. How can you explain that?

that's a bit supply-side for me. I'd say, His base has a huge demand for all kinds of outrageous crap, therefore Trump says it. I think Trump, whose alignment is chaotic neutral, gets too much blame for the evil of his supporters.

It's hard to argue against your point. I suppose I'd like to think highly of the American people, but the evidence doesn't really favor that view. There is definitely a symbiotic relationship between Trump and his parasites.

Exactly. The currency of representative government is votes where constituents seek representation and reward it when it happens by continuing to vote for the person who does things they like seeing done.
Ajax doesn't recognize that Trump's actions were only in Trump's personal interest and not that of his constituents, making them an act of a candidate abusing the office of the Presidency for personal gain rather than an act as President. It's a weird blindspot among his supporters that became a central message in the Democratic convention: Trump doesn't actually care about others. It's all about him. So that means folks like Ajax see Trump less like a representative and more as an avatar through whom they vicariously engage in grievance retribution.

On the contrary forcing Israel to leave Hamas in place to prepare and execute another attack like they did last year is only in the interests of a minority of Arabs who demand Jewish genocide.

ajax, let’s assume that Trump’s nutty talk about lunchtime gender reassignment is actually a thing, and your daughter walks into the Express Reassignment café at her local school one day on a whim, comes home as ‘a boy’ and asks you to call them Stonewall from here on out.
I have a couple of questions, then:
1. What is your child to you, at that point? Do you still love and accept Stonewall?
2. What is the ‘agenda’ that Stonewall would now be pushing, and for what purpose?

The fact that Ajax claims that the left wants to “trans” his kids is a perfect example of how every day is Opposite Day in MAGA land. What I want for his kids is government institutions (schools) to treat them with respect and not to make them a target for bullying. I want their parents to have access to standard of care medical treatments for whatever conditions they have. Ajax and his fellow travelers are the ones trying to make my children cis, regardless of how they express their own identities and my choice as their parent. They want to target my children as freaks if they deviate from their religious based gender norms. They are forcing teachers to gaslight them by forbidding teachers from calling them by the name they used, even though that courtesy is routinely extended to cis children.
No Democratic politician has tried to pass a law forcing a cis child to become trans. No Democratic politician has tried to pass a law forcing a cis child to take puberty blockers or to have gender assignment surgery. The people interfering with parental rights are Ajax and his fellow MAGAs who have passed numerous laws preventing me from exercising the same parental choice that they demand for themselves.
