Hillary 2.0
Summary: If the powers that be truly believe that another Trump term would be the end of life as we know it, why the F. didn't they run a candidate who had the best chance of defeating him. Instead of one of the first to drop out of the 2020 primary due to lack of support.
- Even counting the ridiculous amount of idiots in America I cannot believe we find ourselves in a toss-up race with this imbecile.
- I understand why Hillary lost. I didn't like her either. I still voted for her though. Some say some shenanigans got her the Democrat nod in 2016.

Re: Hillary 2.0
Biden and the people around him did a gigantic disservice to the American people by hiding his decline for so long. They tried so hard to push him drooling across the finish line. If they had faced reality earlier, the Democrats could have had a real primary race and selected the best possible candidate. Harris is not the best candidate, she’s just the only option that was available during the crisis caused by Biden and his handlers.
Similar foul play happened with Clinton in 2016 - the leaked DNC emails show the party screwing over Bernie just because it was “Hillary’s turn.”
Democrats will point to the fact that “well anyone is better than Trump” to justify all this BS. But it’s still BS. And it could very easily ensure another Trump presidency.

Thanks Drumdude. This is from the article -
The next opportunity came at the Democratic National Convention in August. The Democratic National Committee could have opened the nominating process — as some Democrats encouraged — to nominate the most qualified candidate in the most open and above-board manner. Unfortunately, for Democrats seeking that option, the powerbrokers behind the scenes — likely including former President Obama and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — slammed the door on that option with the elevation of Harris.

It goes to show that both parties have serious problems.dantana wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:01 pmThanks Drumdude. This is from the article -

Re: Hillary 2.0
I’m am persuaded that Trump’s popularity has zero to do with the quality of any given Democratic candidate. Trump and his MAGA supporters would demonize Jesus Christ himself if he were the Democratic candidate. The demonization and the hate are the point. It’s relatively easy to beat Trump in a poll unless you are the opposing candidate and Trump turn his firehouse of hate on you.
Us sentient bits of carbon have some very ugly stuff in our psyches that, from time to time, other sentient bits of carbon get their hooks into and exploit, with horrific and tragic results.
Trump is to blame for Trump. His political enablers who absolutely know that they’re playing with fire are to blame for Trump. Vance knew Trump for what he is. Graham knew Trump what he is. McConnell knew Trump for what he is. Cruz knew Trump for what he is.
Job 1 is defeating Trump at the polls. Job 2 is defeating his inevitable attempt to steal the election. Again. Holding Harris accountable is Job 3. Having a healthy, competitive primary election in 2028 is Job 4.
Complaining about the quality of candidates never accomplished any job worth doing.

Re: Hillary 2.0
What makes Harris unqualified?
I have friends and family in Utah who apparently experience elections very differently from what I experience here in Arizona. The narrative in the culture there seems to ensure no Democrat would seem competent unless a person extracts themselves from the pervasive negativity that is rightwing propaganda. It's interesting to see otherwise rational people approach me with an attitude of being unsure who they will vote for as if it's a given this is the fair minded position. Fortunately it seems only a few questions about why a person feels (and it's always a feeling) they can't see a meaningful difference between the two candidates helps bring a little clarity.
I don't know. Harris is a solid candidate and has been part of the most positively effective Presidential administration in my lifetime. I'd suggest one look closely at where they get their information if they feel she is unqualified.

Good one Res! Makes sense. Trump and co. would have tried to destroy anyone. I'm still gonna complain though as both Gaven and Shapiro were talked about by politic talkers back earlier in the year, before Biden bowed out. I think they would have fared better.

I didn't say she was/is unqualified. I say she was not the best choice to beat this afore unknown monster maga world that reared itself two cycles ago. We don't know how to deal with it yet. It wasn't anything on the radar, this great mass of stoopid. We need it defeated and need the A-team on it.honorentheos wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 12:01 amWhat makes Harris unqualified?

I think Bernie as actual candidate would have been run over harder than Dukakis was. Clinton's turn meant most likely to win. Well maybe there was an angel in waiting who could have done better. I certainly do not know.drumdude wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 8:55 pmBiden and the people around him did a gigantic disservice to the American people by hiding his decline for so long.
