It matters that free people voluntarily chose to cloak Trump in power he will almost certainly abuse in far-reaching and destructive ways. Our country made the choice to walk down the dark path of Trump’s resentments and conspiracies. We will come to regret it.

One prediction: There’s no way in hell Trump deports 20,000,000 people. It’s a Herculean task and he is one of the laziest presidents ever to inhabit the oval.

They’ll try, absolutely. Hence my mention of Miller. But with how the courts have tended to delay or strike down a lot of efforts at short-circuiting the immigration system, I’d expect that Trump will run into headwinds and then prefer to abandon the effort while blaming it on any number of other folks/entities. He’s all about minimum work and maximum show while pawning off or abandoning responsibility, and his base (and perhaps even the notable crazies like Laura Loomer) will prefer to make excuses for him than hold him to it.
