He’s all about minimum work and maximum show while pawning off or abandoning responsibility, and his base (and perhaps even the notable crazies like Laura Loomer) will prefer to make excuses for him than hold him to it.

Him not getting what he wanted last time was because of those now missing adults in the room. Highly motivated evil ideologues are salivating over their imminent access to the levers of power they will exercise with very little braking them. We will see what the courts can do, but I am not sanguine.

Trump will be able to remove people who can’t prove they are here legally and have been present for over two years through expedited removal. Expedited removal is ordered by lower level immigration officers and has very limited review. An R controlled Congress could extend that authority.

Steven Miller et al Have had four years to game the legal aspects of deportation. I’m not sure that the courts are going to slow them down much.
