Trump can't put three sentences together without a lie. He is a racist, and apparently, half of Americans are okay with that. I doubt there will be an election in four years. The only way fascists lose power is through revolt or revolution.
Can you name another Republican who got a higher percentage of the black vote or the hispanic vote in recent history? Minorities just like everyone else who has been gaslit on the economy by out of touch leftwing elites over the last four years are fed up with it. You're going to have to come up with something different than the race card if you want to get your power and authority back. Donald Trump has formed a new coalition of working men and women of all races.
This reminded me of an interesting quirk of history: did you know that there once existed something called The Association of German National Jews?

The Association of German National Jews (German: Verband nationaldeutscher Juden) was a German Jewish organization during the Weimar Republic and the early years of Nazi Germany that eventually came out in support of Adolf Hitler.
It primarily attracted members from the anticommunist middle class, small business owners, self-employed professionals such as physicians and lawyers, national conservatives, and nationalist World War I veterans, many of whom believed that Nazi antisemitism was only a rhetorical tool used to "stir up the masses."

It ended up not working out too well.

You won the board for the day, canpakes. Members of America’s lower classes who voted for Trump are certainly the present equivalent of this organization.

I live my life with someone I disagree with politically. I've never once seen fit to lay into him though I will admit I've been tempted. But it's not worth damaging relationships because there is far more to him than what he thinks about whatever candidate and he's free to think it.
I really admire that in you. I remember when Trump lost in 2020 and rather than gloat, you were concerned about Jersey Boy's feelings. I sat thinking about good people I know in the Church that vote Democrat. I still disagree with them. But I don't think the only way forward is civil war anymore. I'd like to see all the political prisoners freed and all the lawfare cases against Trump dismissed. The people who conducted the lawfare need to be thrown out and things need to be reformed such that the weaponization of the justice department against conservatives never happens again. I may even sponsor a few Latino people who have patiently waited their turn and sought to come to American legally. I'm actually all for merit based legal immigration. But this is not a time for gloating. This is not a time for vengeance. We'd do well to follow the example of Abraham Lincoln when he let the south off easy as he truly sought to bind up and heal the nations wounds. Whatever anguish you're feeling right now Jersey Girl, I promise you that it will pass. Your local elections seem to have went well in Colorado and local elections effect your life more than national elections. God knows your heart and your faith will get you through.
Hello ajax. I saw this well, I don't know when I saw this post but I had to be logged out since I've had you on ignore like forever. Trying to start from the top down of your post to reply.

I'm not someone who gloats. Rejoice? Sure. Gloat, no. Gloating would take some quality that I apparently don't have. Something that elevates me...I don't think or believe that way at all.

I disagree with you on what you are calling lawfare but I don't claim to know everything.

ajax, I assure you that anguish isn't something I feel nor would I invest in regarding an election. So far as I am concerned, we're hiring a person for a job. I had my "say" via my vote. Others chose differently. In my view, politics is a game. I'm not interested in game playing. I did so hope that I would live to see the first woman elected president. That's my one true disappointment.

I think America has made a significant mistake but I'm not going to lose sleep over it nor am I going to spend my future heartbeats to follow what Trump is doing or saying.

I haven't seen the results here in Colorado. I voted straight Democrat this time, voted in favor of women's right to health care, and I forget what else at the moment. Bunch of judges I don't care about. ;)

I'll tell you one thing for sure. I'm pulling out my Federal Civil Service retirement lump sum payment asap. Pragmatic move on my part.

So thanks for your kind words. I don't need consoling or reassurance. I need it to stop snowing here (snowing through Friday) and a postage stamp!

Who knew that this would be how we entered a post-racial America?!?!?!

Fascism brought people together.
A shared view on capitalism, private property, and free market economics brought people together. In my case I'm even closer with many Hispanics with whom I now work and serve in church. There really is no more Nephites or Lamanites for me. I can honestly say I'm glad they're here. They make my town, my county, and my country better. At least in my new little tribe, we share enough values in common that we're making each other better. They're not Maduro, Castro, nor Obama. They're Christlike people.

And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

I am genuinely happy that you are vibing with your fellow fascists, Ajax. That's truly heartwarming. But, it doesn't make nationalist populism in the fascist vein "capitalist" or "free market." Trump doesn't believe in or care about either thing. He cares about his money however he can obtain it. He will tell anyone what they want to hear in order to get it. But, that said, don't get me wrong. If you are bonding with your non-white neighbors, that's perfectly groovy. We'll see how that holds if the deportation camps become a real thing.

Until ICE shows up and sends your brothers packing. If Trump makes good on his threat, I don't know how you're going to achieve 20 million without many of these brothers of yours getting the boot. It certainly won't be 20 million white professionals like me who voted democrat getting deported nor will it be inner-city blacks who (valiantly) voted for Harris. I honestly feel much better that 53% of Latino men voted Trump so I don't have to feel bad when their families are torn apart, as they are on the front lines.

I do have some hope, and if I were religious I'd be praying, that Nick Fuentes is right, and that Trump is full of crap, and will only go about deportations among other things half-heartedly, and mostly he just wants the worship and grifting that goes along with being the world's number one reality star.

Bet ya' don't feel elections are rigged now, do you?

Yeah, it was all rigged. I mean, here the nation was, full Deep State in action, Democrats in charge of the White House, the steal was already in motion as Trump said, and yet, somehow . . . . somehow . . . . Trump won, and Democrats within the first 24 hours committed to a peaceful transfer of power.

It almost makes one think Trump is full of turds.

Every Trump supporter I have spoken to since he was reelected has said, 'he won't really do the things he said he would do.'

History really does repeat itself, doesn't it? You have to ask yourself, why did these people vote for someone who they are sure will not be doing the things he said he would? What are they voting for?

They're voting for the things they selectively hear.
