New potential Board Members

Post by ceeboo »

In order to increase the 'discussions' that take place here, I thought it would be worthy to make an effort to recruit new board members.

I found a guy who I think would fit in really well here (assuming he is not already here and has been posting among us), Person X is an employee at the University of Oregon, and he provided a social media video that does a pretty good job of highlighting the tolerance and diversity championed by his political party.

He expresses his views here:

https://youtu.be/f-SNv5sCaGU?si=Iv_7tDtuC58x9YDs&t=17

Redacted; UR7: “Do not reveal personal or "in real life" information about any poster on this site that he or she has not explicitly revealed here. This includes avoiding mention of his/her actual first or last name, even if he or she has made it available on some other website.”

Ceeboo, please let potential board members decide for themselves if they wish to be publicly identified by name. I’m not removing the link itself but have edited the name posted here given the context and your suggestion of board membership, and assuming that we don’t (as you’ve pointed out) know their member status.
; )

Thanks! -c-

Then go try to recruit him. Nobody's stopping you. Maybe he knows something about immigration law, inflation and macro, global warming, and all the other issues right-wingers on this forum know nothing about but have extreme opinions on. If he can make a case for Trump that isn't grounded in culture-war nonsense and soundbites then he'll be a welcome addition, I'm sure.

I tried (I had a two-hour lunch with him - He ordered organic asparagus and was drinking his beverage from a Joe Scarborough mug that he retrieved from his NPR tote bag) but he has a few concerns with joining the board. He wanted me to guarantee him that his hope about Trump voters jumping off a F-ing bridge would be applauded and celebrated. I told him that, while I would imagine he would get some support by some of the board members, I could not guarantee that he would get such support from all board members. He said he was unable to join a board that couldn't make such a reasonable guarantee.

As he was leaving our lunch date (after he put his "Joe" mug back into his NPR tote) I told him that he might want to reach out to other board members before he makes his final decision. I gave him you name (I hope you don't mind) and I told him that you might be able to offer him some of the things he would require in order to join this community. If he contacts you, I would be curious to know how your conversation went.

It’s “your name”

It’s bad form to open brackets and then not close them.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

You're increasing the discussions all by yourself, ceeboo!

You might want to recall what you've posted in the past, though.

...The critically important thing, in my opinion, is that America returns to a place where it's citizens (much broader than simply you and I) can engage one another, share ideas with one another, with common decency and a basic level of civility extended in both directions...
In your effort to " "increase the 'discussions' ", you seem to have lost sight of what you used to consider most important. Unless your phrase 'both directions' is the six-year-old version. I.e.:
"be nice to me when I throw tantrums or I will call you a moron."

Thanks, mods. Especially since ceeboo's outing of the guy was no more than a thinly veiled attack. I doubt ceeboo actually had the conversations with him that he said he did, but if so, it's a pretty crappy thing way for ceeboo to treat someone.

Of course not. Potential MAGA bridge jumpers won’t be cheered merely for doing so. They have to earn that praise. America is a meritocracy and MAGA needs to make an effort, too.

Accordingly, all MAGA bridge divers will be judged by a panel of seven judges who rate dives on a scale from 1-10 in half-point increments. Here's a look at the scoring scale:

- Excellent: 10
- Very Good: 8.5-9.5
- Good: 7-8
- Satisfactory: 5-6.5
- Deficient: 2.5-4.5
- Unsatisfactory: 0.5-2
- Completely failed: 0

When scoring an individual dive, judges will consider the starting position/approach, takeoff, flight and entry into the water. Make it look good, MAGA.

Once all seven scores are submitted, the two highest and two lowest ones are dropped. The three remaining scores are added together and then multiplied by the dive's degree of difficulty, resulting in the final score. The degree of difficulty assigned to a particular dive can range from 1.2 to 4.1 in one-tenth increments.

Synchronized MAGA jumpers (like husband and wife teams), will be rated by a panel of 11 judges. But they all don't have the same role.

Three judges focus on scoring one diver and three judges are assigned to the other diver. The remaining five judges rate the team's synchronization. Judges scoring synchronization consider starting position/approach, takeoff, coordinated timing of movements during flight, similarity of angles of entry, comparative distance from the board at entry and coordinated time of entry.

Only five of the 11 scores are used: each diver's median score and the three middle synchronization scores. The five scores are added together, multiplied by 0.6 (to better align with individual scores) and finally multiplied by the degree of difficulty to arrive at the final score.

Please pass these important rules along to your friend. Thanks.

Yeah, thanks "mods."

You doubt that ceeboo had a two-hour lunch date (including the "Joe" mug, NPR tote bag, and organic asparagus references) with a guy who wants me dead?

Can't put anything past highly intelligent people like you, Marcus.
but if so, it's a pretty crappy thing way for ceeboo to treat someone.
Do you think wishing someone dead is crappy too, or just me for posting his video?

And - What exactly is "a crappy thing way" that you suggest I did?
