This is an interesting trend. Usually, folks that are washed up in government might transition over to being media mouthpieces. Under Trump, we can reward loyal media mouthpieces with shiny new government jobs.

1. Rabid loyalty
2. A history of sketchy sexual antics, maybe with minors.

If I had a higher opinion of Trump's forethought and strategic abilities, I'd lean towards these appointments being particularly noxious for only one reason: To test the loyalty of Republicans in the legislature and elsewhere.

If you're willing to back someone like Gaetz for AG, or RFK for HHS, then where exactly is the line where you'll say "God-emperor Trump, I cannot support you in this"?

President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday that he will nominate Mehmet Oz to serve as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, elevating a TV-famous doctor who ran unsuccessfully for Senate in Pennsylvania in 2022, a state he had not lived in since his graduate days in medical school.

Trump, meanwhile, said he will nominate Wall Street banker Howard Lutnick as commerce secretary. I was hoping it would be someone from BYU's Ferengi School of Accounting.
