Kiskumen you clearly hate the 51% of us who voted for Trump. You think your life would be better if we weren't in your country. So why wouldn't you want a national divorce? But even you don't rise to the level of Schmo, who like many latinos and foreigners I've seen abroad who hate the US, it's history, it's culture, it's religion, it's language, and the majority of it's people. And yet he won't live anywhere else. I couldn't pay him enough to leave.
I don't want one, because I actually care about you. I know what a dystopian hellscape it would be for the 31.97% of eligible voters who voted for Trump, if they went their own way. Between no longer having the federal welfare teat to suck on, no longer having liberal organizations fighting against anti-freedom and Constitution destroying legislation, no longer having agencies and safeguards to prevent and prosecute things like fraud, wage-theft, corporate exploitation, etc., the people who were unfortunate enough to live in those states would quickly find themselves in a third-world country at the doorstep of the US.

We already see what's happening to the farmers, and small business people who voted for Trump. I voted against Trump not because I thought my life would be better without him as President, but because I remember his last Presidency, and know that the farmers, small business people, and those who love and care about the ideals our country was founded upon, would all be better off.

I'm a white middle-class male in a purple state. No matter who is President, and what policies they implement, I'll likely be just fine (although Trump did partially destroy the industry I work in that last time he was President, while he was destroying other parts of our economy). My vote is always with other people in mind.

You might want a Christian version of Afghanistan to live in, but I don't think you actually want and understand everything that would come with it.

ajax, it would seem that the people who keep demanding a national divorce from America also seem, to some extent, to “hate the US, it's history, it's culture, it's religion, it's language, and the majority of it's people”. Else why would they be wanting to create their New Confederacy?

Trump won, and yet you seem to have kicked up your rage a notch or three more in the past few months. Now that Trump has eliminated those woke and DEI bogeymen, promised lowered taxes for millionaires, thumbed his nose at Ukraine and the whole rest of the democratic world and turned kicking brown folks out of the country into sport, what’s left for you to be so incensed about?

I’m not convinced that you can define how pure you need your new country to be, before you’ll be able to live within it without so much angst and complaint.

51% of what exactly?
You think your life would be better if we weren't in your country.
All of our lives would be better if you would wake up, realize this is insane, immoral, illegal, unconstitutional, and destructive, and then you refused to support it any more. You are cutting off your nose to spite your face.
So why wouldn't you want a national divorce?
Still living in the Confederate past in your mind, eh? Let’s tackle real questions.
But even you don't rise to the level of Schmo, who like many latinos and foreigners I've seen abroad who hate the US, it's history, it's culture, it's religion, it's language, and the majority of it's people. And yet he won't live anywhere else. I couldn't pay him enough to leave.
Whaaaa???? So, if someone out there loves the Constitution, deplores slavery, embraces a nation of immigrants (factually what our country is), and lives in a present where Confederate losers are not revered, you think they DON’T love America? Everything in that IS AMERICA. It is the wackadoos who want to live in the Confederacy or a theocracy that hate America. Their vision of America is un-American. It’s treasonous.

Why are you living in Florida rather than California if things are so much better under Democrat rule?
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

It's a narrow majority but our differences are no less irreconcilable. I'm genuinely surprised you won't take a deal. All you do on this board spew hatred for the America First movement. I'm offering you the chance to have your own country to do what you want. And yet none of you will take it because you know that a country of worthless and lazy parasites wouldn't fair much better than Liberia, Latin America, or even California.

A very wishful post from Elon Musk concerning the 52 Confederate States of America, (with Canada, and Greenland).

This would only make sense if, for example, ‘blue states’ were somehow so filled with “worthless and lazy parasites” that they were all obvious failures when compared to ‘red states’. Yet, I can’t think of a single example of that.

I’m sure that every MAGA person sees themself as the heroic, wood-chopping, bear-killing, cabin-building American Übermensch that they want to make everyone else believe that they are, but let’s be honest. Your chances of survival after any kind of polite-society-snuffing Armageddon is probably much better hanging with that Latino roofing crew you see as ‘parasites’ than it is with a band of fluffy optometrists who can’t walk more than two miles under clear skies without getting sunburned and winded.

Well, ajax. If 51% voted for Trump then they clearly voted for a loser. Are you following the news? Whatever he hasn't already walked back on his own, the courts are walking back for him. He's losing case after case, day after day. Musk is now losing 1 BILLION DOLLARS per day in Tesla stocks and he's preparing to get out of Dodge, I mean, DOGE before his affiliation with Trump (and his own actions) destroys him completely.

Trump is currently failing at every damn thing he's attempted. When he's confronted with his claims, he denies the words that came out of his own mouth even though he's documented on camera as having said them. Walmart, Target, and Home Depot issued a warning directly to Trump telling him that the public will start seeing empty shelves in approx. 10 days.

Republican elected officials are turning on him.
Citizens who voted for him are turning on him.
Billionaires are turning on him.
FOX is turning on him.

The only thing he's succeeding at is FAILING.

I can live here because the Confederacy lost. They were losers. Their way of life sucked. It was inferior. The Union decimated their asses. So, I live here. Many people living in the modern world happen to do so in Florida. You should try doing so in the modern world and give up on trying to be a loser.

California recently surpassed Japan to become the fourth largest economy in the world.
