Hey Ceeboo! Thanks for sharing that. It was a beautiful song. I had no idea Rumer had such a good voice.

Re: Sailing
Ninety-five percent of members of the Nazi Party were Christians. When their neighbors were getting rounded up, I'm sure they consoled themselves that the law was followed. And it was. Parliament passed the Enabling Act, which then allowed for the Nuremberg Laws and then, how could you say it wasn't the right thing to do to deport the Jews who weren't citizens? It's there in black and white in the law. Well, since mass deportations are impossible -- the bottom line being the receiving countries will never have capacity to take them back -- they can rot away in detention facilities, and we can hear the argument that conditions became so bad there that euthanizing was the humanitarian thing to do.
I'm sure these good Christians who went along with it loved their families, their grandchildren, and many were deeply spiritual people who cried when they listened to soft music, and refused to accept what was happening. My mom always told me that when the good people were shown the concentration camps, they were shocked and couldn't believe that really happened, and had to be shown the facilities before they accepted it. This has been debunked, as it turns out, everyone knew what was happening, but looked the other way to the extent they could to maintain deniability. They pretended to be shocked because all these good Christians were complicit.

It was impossible then, and it's impossible now. But there's big money in giving it a try. CXW and GEO are both up a few hundred percent. Michael Burry made a nice profit on these stocks. Oversight is shrinking all around and the climate for abuse has never been better, but it's a financial reality that costs need to be cut since according to the Warton School -- you know who graduated from there, right? -- it costs 70k to deport a single illegal. And the more brazen and aggressive strategies will dramatically raise that cost. It's really worth it for those who "follow the law" I'm sure.
Cross wrote a very good song and took production standards to the next level for the time, in actuality, he hit the apex as anything produced in studios after 1980 sounds pretty terrible. It's a good song, it's just unfortunate that it's great "escapism" music that allows a person to imagine themselves on island or boat, with solitude and peace, and we don't have to think about all the people whose lives are getting ruined for no good reason.

Yes, ICE is murdering people in broad daylight and the government is treating people like feral dogs, regardless of their status. A brown citizen is at risk just as a brown non-citizen is. A person can be here legally, and this rogue administration obviously doesn’t care. The only things that speak in Trumpworld are money for Trump and accolades for Trump. The law? Human rights? Actual Christian morality? Piffle.
