Lindsey Graham Dead at 71

Having just returned from Kyiv, Lindsey Graham experienced a “brief illness,” suffered cardiac arrest, and died suddenly at 71 years of age. Conspiracy theories are already flourishing.

The only somewhat eyebrow raising notion I have about his health was when he was filmed wandering around Disney World by himself with a plastic fairy wand in his hand like he was sundowning.



That made me think he was losing it. Also, he didn’t sound as sharp as he used to sound.

Anyway. He’s dead. The Governor will appoint some piece of crap to take his place, so it’s not like much will change with his death.

According to his Wikipedia entry, Graham never married. Since it’s hard to imagine a Republican US senator maintaining a secret family relationship outside a heterosexual marriage, he must have had a lonely life. His parents died when he was just 20, leaving him to care for a 13-year-old sister.

There’s a somewhat ‘famous’ claim by a transgender woman who has gone into detail about their sex work with Mr. Graham. Given the FACT that Grindr crashes any time a Republican convention comes to town I don’t discount the sex worker’s account. I mean, the dude was obviously homosexual, but he wasn’t really affected by the discrimination he legislated- he enjoyed the in between spaces he occupied.

He's the only senator I ever wrote to, and I asked what he thought John McCain would think of him now (this was back in 2019).

One conspiracy theory, which is at least plausible, is that Russia took him out in fulfillment of Tehran's promise of vengeance. I doubt it would have been that difficult to get to Graham in Ukraine.
