You are certainly allowed to call it that. Sure. That doesn't change the fact that this thread is not a discussion of Mormonism in a forum dedicated to the discussion of Mormonism.

I can respect that point, Kishkumen. And if it gets moved, I can respect that too.
I prefer that it stay here simply so it can get some participation from those that participate solely in the Terrestrial world. I would also like to see the dialogue about homophobia and the audacious hypocrisy addressed here in Terrestrial, though I am skeptical that it will. I have moved that conversation to SP but I would like it to also happen with the participation of both groups.

This idea of a divided board seems more like a way for people in Terrestrial to wash their hands of the bigotry, doxing and bullying rather than just a separation of topics. Were it not so, it sure would not feel like that.

If there is actual doxxing going on, it will be dealt with. As for the idea that everyone on the board is obligated to deal with the problems of every forum, and that it is a helpful public service to make sure that they do, I don't agree with that, no. The whole idea of having different forums with different rules and focuses is to make sure that different constituencies feel their needs are met and that people are not forced to confront things they would find extremely distracting or aggravating. I can see that there is a problem in SP, and I think it does need to be addressed. Maybe the rules of the forum need to change to reflect what actually goes on there, or the moderation needs to improve to make sure the rules are observed. One way or the other.

I'm a straight shooter so I'm going to tell everyone exactly what I would like to do on this board. First, I don't want to post here in the terrestrial that often, maybe every once in a while if I have a question that I think you guys could help me with, but I'm talking about maybe once every couple of months. I'm not a scholar, I don't have 3 master degrees in philosophy or archaeology! I don't want to come up here and pretend like I do. I'm a dropout who got into to many fist fights in high school so I had to get my GED. I want to post in spirit paradise without being insulted. That doesn't make me a troll. I've asked 8x now if we could just stop the personal insults. No one wants to be called a Nazi and that word is thrown around a lot in spirit paradise. In my opinion, the "problem" we are facing in spirit paradise is before me all the other "trolls" have backed down or just faded away from all the constant insults on them personally or indirectly by talking about how ignorant Trump supporters/conservatives are. I've said 8x now that I'm fine if they want to insult Mormons, Christians, athiest, conservatives, trumpsters, Democrats and so on. All I've asked is stop insulting posters personally. No one wants to be insulted personally!! I have yet to get a response back. I want to talk about Mormonism and personal issues/stories without being insulted. I've expressed this numerous times in spirit paradise, again, crickets. I'm not the kind of guy who will go sit in the corner while being insulted. You insult me and I'm going to make your life uncomfortable. You know what's funny, I've still never talked to Ajax18, not even through personal message. But I feel like I need to protect him for some reason because there's a handful a posters who crap on him constantly. They've made him their whipping boy. Anyways, that's all I got! I'm not trolling. Im a confused Mormon with questions and I'm looking for somewhere to ask them.

The Terrestrial Forum is for discussions of Mormon topics. Accusations of trolling in the Spirit Paradise forum are not a Mormon topic.

I sincerely hope I am misunderstanding you here. Because I surely believe you have earned the benefit of the doubt (from me anyway) I need to ask you about this.

Who are you suggesting is "obnoxiously spouting fascist garbage and conspiracy theories?"

A number of people have been over the past few years. You know, folks like ajax and the other white nationalist types. The sort of people who left conservatism behind and went full on populist authoritarian. I think fascist and nazi are appropriate shorthand terms for these types, even though I will admit they are somewhat inflammatory. Populist authoritarian is just kinda unwieldy to write over and over again.

I agree with you. This entire thread should not be here. I say it should be returned to Spirit Paradise, where it belongs.

Indeed, it should have never arrived here but now that it has, what do you think the folks who have seen it (even if they have been forced to do so) ought to do, if anything?

Because of our few exchanges in this thread, I want to go on record and let you know that I really appreciate, understand and agree (mostly) with what you posted here.

Having said that, please indulge me for a moment: Let's say this board was a house. You spend the great majority of your time in the den. You like the den, you are most comfortable spending your time on this board in the den. You enjoy all the informative things the den has to offer. You just love hanging out in the den and you have forged valuable relationships with other people who also frequent the den quite often. in my opinion, that's awesome. Mutual respect flourishes and deep academic study continues to provide understanding, perspective and knowledge that can not be found in the other rooms of the house. Again, that's fantastic. Full stop.

But one day, you start hearing rumors about another room in the very same house, it's the bathroom. While you never go there (you have fabulous bladder control) you hear about leaky pipes, rancid smells and toxic fumes that seem to be coming from the bathroom. What should you do, if anything. It is, after all, a room in the very same house that you are living in.

I appreciate and acknowledge the concept of the comment. I reject the premise entirely. Doc Cam does not require an insult. There is no if>then with Doc Cam. He just makes anyone he goshdang chooses to feel hated, hopeless and unwelcome. If that does not work, he makes them feel threatened, hated, hopeless and unwelcome. He likes it like that and the board likes him like that. He takes a lot of pride in it and the board seems to take a lot of pride in him doing it.

“The board” is a piece of software. It doesn’t “think” anything or “take pride” in anything. This is the gazillionth post where you’ve leveled false accusations at people who post here based on your fallacious black and white thinking. We’re not your trained seals obliged to bark on your command.

You are free to accept or reject anything you want and express that on this board. You are not free to force me to be responsible for another adult’s posts.
