This is what needs to happen immediately. Everyone needs to go to a neutral corner and stop the nonsense. And I mean, everyone. Put posters on ignore if you need to. If that doesn't happen, it amounts to soiling our own house and waiting for the maid(s) to come clean up the mess we've made.

So stop it. Stop it now. Just stop.

My apologies, but after my return from the convention I was attending I suffered a very unpleasant setback in my professional life. I am also dealing with a very serious setback in my personal life. And for the cherry on top, my computer quit working (I’m typing this message on my cellular telephone).
That's terrible. I would love to help if there's anything I can do.

Uuuhhhh!! I've been saying this for three or so weeks now. I've apologized, extended an olive branch at least 10xs on both forums and got crickets!! Notta!! I keep saying the same thing over and over. Let's stop the personal insults. So here's what I suggest. Let's either work it out here in the open or we can do it through messaging in private. Would you reach out to me through a private message? If so, feel fee, I'll answer you back. I don't hold grudges and I'm willing to forgive and forget.

... Again, my apologies for the unacceptable delay.
No apology is necessary. And best wishes in dealing with the much more important matters to which you refer in your message.
Absolutely. Best wishes, Shades.

I love that AM thinks he made a difference on this forum. I’ve been writing Cultellus diaper erotica, quoting his vulgarities, have insulted Xanax for being a damned retard, and am now pointing out that AM is a narcissistic sex toy.

Never. Ever. Underestimate a stupid person’s overconfidence. It’s damned remarkable, and sometimes gets them elected President.

But he has made a difference, Doc. Before, we didn't know he existed. Now we know there's a incompetent moron named Atlanticmike uncontrollably crapping his pants, reaching into his panties for a handful of his stink and smearing it all over the board.

It's a small, inconsequential difference, but a difference nonetheless.

Hence the reason for my recalcitrance of late. Although I think 51% or more of the community wants a moderator team to begin existing and start functioning, I’m not entirely certain I want to subject them to the constant abuse that comes with the “job.” Plus, moderating here will not be just a job, it’ll be a career.

So, I’ll do what I can when I can—hiring moderators is easy, but training them is most definitely not—but please understand that I’m under quite a bit of stress right now.

Again, my apologies for the unacceptable delay.
Damn, Shades. I'm very sorry tp hear about the setbacks. Sadly, moderator abuse comes with the territory. However, I think the amount of time required will be reduced by the act of appointing mods. in my opinion, people tend to conform their behavior to expectations.

That was priceless. you're a piece of crap.
Cultellus. I'm at a loss to see how this Res Ipsa post generates this response from you.

He's a PoS because he's sorry to hear about Shades's setbacks? He's a PoS because he says, 'moderator abuse comes with the territory?' Or is it that he's a PoS because he says, 'in my opinion, people tend to conform their behavior to expectations?'

Really? Am I a PoS for asking you to clarify? Please do so anyway.

Let's be clear. The only thing that is unacceptable here is the conduct of the the posters in Paradise and that certainly has included me for a stint. It does not include everyone. Posters need to dial it down and respect the situation for what it is at the moment.

I agree that training moderators takes time. Look around you. You have posters here who already know the job (and it's accompanying abuse) who might be willing to do the job on a temporary basis while you are dealing with your in real life hardships. Then a new mod team can come on board one by one, while you release the temp workers one by one. From where I sit, it would take a one or perhaps two mod actions. The rest is housekeeping and then, maintenance via the reporting system.

And keep in mind that there is nothing anyone can do with mod keys that cannot be undone if it fails to meet your expectations, so long as every (let's say major) mod action is logged into the Mod Forum for you to check if you would like to do that.

All that said, there's probably not a poster here who doesn't understand the nature of in real life circumstances and how seemingly everything can go awry all at once. I'm sure most of us have experienced that sense of all the walls coming down around us. I know that I have. I don't wish it on anyone and my heart is troubled thinking about what you might be going through.

Do you want me to Prime you a laptop? I am sure I can come up with something if you need it. What about one of those small notebook things or a tablet you can carry around and keep in your car? You want that? Maybe it would help to expedite your in real life communications and also help you here on the board. Whatever you are going through, my thoughts are with you.
