 See? This is why I can NEVER explain to my family what attracts me to this place. I mean, seriously, who else has a 'deshadifier' that changes sh*t into crap but neglects to capitalize the C?????
That's because the "s" word is usually used in the middle of a sentence, not as a single-word sentence. So to make it capitalize the C would leave you with the capitalized word "Crap" in the middle of a sentence 99.9% of the time.
That is ... literally ... an explanation. Not of a 'de-shade-ifier', but still. A noble effort.

So true, Lem. I can't express my distain for the autocorrect function adequately. I prefer to read what others actually say, not what any given site administrator thinks those people should have said.
And just think: If you could only discipline yourself to use your filthy language in the Telestial and Spirit Prison fora only, instead of here, then we wouldn't need an autocorrect function, would we?
 oh brother. As if the problems with autocorrect are summarized as a lack of discipline regarding filthy language.

Who cares? You aren't moderating other instances of filthy language in this forum so what possible difference does it make?

Shades, I don't know why this has your underwear in such a bunch. You know this is unpopular, but your sense of propriety won't let you change it.

I am not talking about what you call "my filthy language.'" I don't feel the need to express myself fully and deeply that often. Do a search of this site and you'll see.

I'm not even talking about someone else's so-called "filthy language." I'm complaining about the general policy of changing words or acronyms to be what any given board administrator thinks they should be.

You write, "then we wouldn't need an autocorrect function, would we?" We don't need the autocorrect function. You seem to need the autocorrect function. Personally, that attitude seems a bit paternalistic and wrong.

What do you think?

I think I’m going to blow my top soon if I hear “I seen that,” or “that patient we seen yesterday” from a couple of coworkers. My husband and I are considering buying a new home, and this has played into my thoughts about where I’d want to live and where I would not want to live. It seems that this grammar choice may be somewhat geographical.

So, Shades, I totally understand. I’ve been pondering having Ms. Nobody’s grammar lessons of the day at work. Then, the offenders can take back what they’ve learned to the country folk of Alabama.
"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy” Jude 1:24
“the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 ESV

Speaking of geographical grammar twists, we hear a lot of this out here:

Do you want to come with?

It’s odd, without something after the ‘with’. But I love the casual friendliness of it.

Soon after the advent of Mormon Discussions version 1.0, people began complaining that there was too much gutter profanity and threatened to leave if I didn't input some sort of auto-correct. I responded by implementing the varying Kingdoms instead of one free-wheeling forum. This worked for a time until people could no longer discipline themselves to restrict their use of filthy language to the proper fora, so I ended up having to instate the auto-correct.

Believe me, if there was any way I could have the auto-correct work in some fora but not others, I'd do it in a heartbeat. For now, though, you're free to turn off the auto-correct if you wish. The instructions are at the top of every forum.
I am not talking about what you call "my filthy language.'" I don't feel the need to express myself fully and deeply that often. Do a search of this site and you'll see.
You're right. I should've specified that I meant "the royal you."
I'm not even talking about someone else's so-called "filthy language." I'm complaining about the general policy of changing words or acronyms to be what any given board administrator thinks they should be.
Readability = user-friendliness.

Can you narrow it down a bit?

I'm not ignoring some instances on purpose. Show me what I missed and I'll tweak the auto-correct accordingly.
