I'd be interested in seeing the messages about Mary Ann that you found here. Can you post the links?
Sure. This topic, "Steve Benson's interview about Mitt," on pages 2 and 6, they talked about Mary Ann. It was 2007, probably just a year after their divorce. Some seemed to imply that Steve had become more cynical after that, and some didn't have good words for Mary Ann (see p. 6).

This is p. 2

You can go to p. 6 by clicking on the page#.

Markc, I spent a couple minutes reviewing that breeze from the past. On page six Beastie's negative comment about Ann is about Ann Coulter, completely different person.

Now if anybody knows how Beastie is doing it would be nice to hear. She has been such a good source of Book of Mormon considerations.

I clicked on her name and it said page not found, I guess she left the group? Unfortunate if that's the case.

I dunno. It was a long time ago. I was probably an asshole (more so than I normally am), and the power tripping mod there dropped the ban hammer.

What brings you to this board? Wait, are you Markk?

The only person who could think you’re an asshole doesn’t know you or give you a fair chance.

He’s not Markk. I read Dr. Chu’s blog a bit just now. His story is there in bits and pieces.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

Yes, sadly beastie got tired of the content here and retired before we opened a part of the board devoted to non-LDS topics. That helps our longtime members stick around even after they tire of talking Mormonism.

You mean you read my article at Substack? If that's the case, thanks for reading, and you can call me Mark. :)

information update:

Actually, after I carefully viewed the posts in 2007 (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=104241) from beginning to end, I think I understand why my posts at RfM got deleted twice. It seems that Steve Benson is like a big deal there (his current wife, Claire, just made a post over there, so she's active too), and he can be bitter and cynical. I think the divorce took a toll at least on him. If you check his Wiki, you'll find that it does not even mention Mary Ann and their four children, obviously he at least in some way wants to "erase" her from his life.

I sent an email to Susan I/S asking about my deleted posts, she was kind enough to reply to me, saying I should have respected people's privacy. All I posted was public knowledge, but I respect the policy, though it would be nice if an explanation was given.

And she said that Mary Ann is a very private person, which indicates that she's at least still alive. Is she well? Well, guess we'll never know.

I've heard RFM mods are (the RFM mod is) heavy-handed. I think I registered there but then didn't post.
