I’m grateful members from our forum were able to be there in person and show support for Don. Words aren’t really a substitute for showing up.

Bless you all for showing up for a brother. I couldn't be more proud to know you all.Philo Sofee wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 4:51 amIt was a sad funeral. I am so grateful I got to meet both Kishkumen and Ms. Nobody and Mr. Nobody and buy them lunch afterwards. I appreciate that we all were able to support Don and be there for him. He needed it. I now know the actual face of grief live and cried along with him. He will heal, but it won't be for a while. I also got to shake Steve Smoot's hand and find out he and his wife were married a year ago. I had no idea he got married, and I got to talk to Jack Welch of FARMS and Chiasmus fame as well as shake hands with Neal Rappleye and his wife. I also saw one of the Midnight Mormons (can't remember his name) but I pointed at him as I was walking by out of the chapel and said "You! You look familiar." And he pointed back and said "You look familiar too!" I also got to briefly talk with Matt Roper. That was pretty much everyone I knew. I got to meet and get acquainted with a gent Alex Criddle as well! VERY cool guy and we are going to have enormous amounts of conversations!
Every single time.Just remember this. Tell your kids or parents or whoever in your family you love them. Tell them that more often than you do. I promise it's worth the effort.
I pray the sun will shine through blue skies and give Don Bradley hope. <3

Re: Let's Step Up For Don Bradley
Thank you for being there, Philo Sofee. I know it meant a whole lot to Don that you and the Nobodies were there. Thanks also for sticking around and treating us to lunch. It was nice to step back and recharge a little before you all had to hit the road. I can add that the wake was lovely. A lot of memories of Donnie were shared. I was even called upon to share my memories of Donnie, a young man I was always impressed by but did not get to know as much as I feel I was somehow owed. I know I was not exactly owed, but I still feel cheated. Donnie and I had a lot of shared interests (like a love of Aesop Rock), but he was a genius, whereas I stumble along through life. It is one thing to lose someone. Much worse to lose someone so young, and the further tragedy is to consider all he could have done in and for the world. And he was just the kind of brilliant, compassionate young person one imagines doing many salutary things for his fellow beings.Philo Sofee wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 4:51 amIt was a sad funeral. It was very cool to finally get to meet you in person Kish. Also the Nobodys (LOL!)....... what a treat to have lunch with you and spend time intermingling. I felt so bad for Don. I have never seen a man grieve like he did. I know he will come out of it, but I now know what the face of devastation is. It was almost spooky.Kishkumen wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 12:08 pmThank you for being there, Philo Sofee. I know it meant a whole lot to Don that you and the Nobodies were there. Re: Let's Step Up For Don Bradley
As long as I have known him, Don has cherished his sons. I was not at all surprised to see his strong reaction for that reason. He was a great dad to Donnie, as he is to Nicholas, and he always remains vigilantly concerned about their welfare. It just goes to show you that no matter how much love and concern you pour forth, the world does its own thing. Donnie's death was truly a tragedy in every way.Philo Sofee wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 3:54 amIt was very cool to finally get to meet you in person Kish.
