Without Buddha, Yahweh, Joseph Smith, Elohim, Manitou, Krishna, Laozi, and Confucius, how would you account for the Plan® coming into existence without this Council of Gods?!!!

What if all the monotheistic "gods" are all the same God, just a different perspective with different experiences creating the picture? Like looking at different sides of the same object, the picture can be very different. We can't see the full story. Just a thought. I'm sure that's probably oversimplified.

Pirate, since we're what-if-ing, why just the monotheistic gods? Why not have all the polytheistic gods, or even no gods at all, be the same god?
Or we could be Joan Osborne.

If God had a name what would it be?
And would you call it to his face?
If you were faced with Him in all His glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?
And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin' to make his way home?
If God had a face what would it look like?
And would you want to see
If seeing meant that you would have to believe
In things like heaven and in Jesus and the Saints
And all the prophets?
And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin' to make his way home?
Just tryin' to make his way home
Back up to heaven all alone
Nobody callin' on the phone
'Cept for the Pope, maybe in Rome
And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin' to make his way home?
Just tryin' to make his way home
Like a holy rolling stone?
Back up to heaven all alone
Just tryin' to make his way home
Nobody callin' on the phone

I went with monotheist because I visualise Islamic god to be the same god and the Christian god. I think if we discuss no god being the same god, it kind of becomes more philosophical and you'd have to look at the definitions of what god means. You can't say the atheist god is the same as the Christian god because atheists don't visualise a god of any sort, (according to my understanding).Morley wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 4:53 pmIWMP wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:04 pm

I don't know enough about polytheism to put that question out there.

You're getting your stories mixed up again, as that's what YOU started this thread with.
You do this regularly, as though you're here just to criticize but you can't keep track of your accusations. You use a tactic, then forget and accuse others of the same tactic. Maybe use a pencil and pad when you post. You can list your made up accusations and it will help you remember to use different tactics in the next post.

It’s like being caught out in bad behaviour is a prompt for him to accuse others of that bad behaviour even though they haven’t done it. Or in other words, Trolling 101.Marcus wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 5:53 pmYou're getting your stories mixed up again, as that's what YOU started this thread with. You do this regularly, as though you're here just to criticize but you can't keep track of your accusations. Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Projection? Absent the church callings of course. What do you call it when you come to this board to put the church down? Is that healthy?I Have Questions wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 7:36 amI thought this was interesting…And thisA 2014 study found that people with higher levels of sadism, psychopathy and Machiavellianism were more likely to engage in online trolling behaviour, with sadism being the strongest predictor. It’s an interesting insight. The Dark Tetrad, also known as the Dark Quad, is a set of interrelated negative personality features: narcissism, psychopathy, Machiavellianism, and sadism.
It explains how someone can preach “Step outside and breathe.<snip>. Serve a neighbor. Take a drive. Read a good book. Have a real life conversation. Get off the dang keyboard!” whilst practicing the opposite.
I would normally fear for the spouse of someone with a Dark Tetrad Personality, and maybe we should in this specific case...but hopefully our resident DTP comes here to try and exert his macho and his spouse is spared the game playing. It's quite sad really, when you think about it. I'm guessing he's relatively puny in real life and feels insignificant - passed over for serious Church callings, feels he didn't amount to what he deserved to in his career, etc. He comes here to try and boost his own ego by putting others down. That's certainly been the pattern for 25 years. That he's here so often suggests it's not working. Actually, that’s a bit unfair, his complex personality disorder means, to all intents and purposes, he simply cannot help himself.
We know very little about you, IHAQ. What kind of person are you? Are you a loner? What do you do with your time when you're not on the computer? What do you do to serve others? Are you happily married? Do your children love and respect you? Do you have grandchildren that you spend time with often? Are you involved in community service? Do you take care of yourself physically and exercise regularly? Can you be trusted around children? If yes, how do we know that to be true? What is your belief system? How does it work for you? Would you recommend it to others? Why?
Who are you? What makes YOU tick?
Regards,
MG

My comment had to do with, as I previously said and you didn't mention, whether there is a danger in throwing all the gods out when there may be the 'one true God'. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater essentially.
In today's world with the influence of the internet I think that happens all too often. People think too fast without slowing down, exercising patience, and taking time to cool their jets. Too quick to judge in matters that may have eternal significance.
