But you are not practicing what you preach. I’m simply pointing that out. Your reasons for not practicing what you preach are your business, but stop pretending you’re a faithful Mormon who sustains the Church Leaders. Oh sure, you put your arm up every April in a meaningless cheap show of virtue signalling, but you don’t mean it. Your lack of follow through shows you don’t actually sustain them.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:00 amNo. And I've given an answer to this question previously at greater length. Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

I like the message of this song. It speaks of opening to ways one can be a help to others. It is sort of unpleasant to turn it into a task demand check list. I would not think of a demand to do senior mission though that could be possible. My brother is currently doing a senior mission and I hope it is a free and happy choice not just a demand or be unfaithful manipulation.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:17 pmYou claim to agree with the idea of living so God can use you, yet refuse to let God use you by living a senior mission. You’re big on talk, tiny on actions. You lack the courage of the convictions you say you have.
MG, if you feel God calls you be happy to go. If folks try to make you feel guilty for not going stand by your best sense.

How refreshing. Gets rid of some of the stink.

I’m not trying to make MG feel guilty, nor am I trying to coerce him to go on a senior mission. I’m simply making the point that MG does not practice what he preaches, something he seems unable to acknowledge. He cannot truly believe in what he says he claims is his belief - that God exists and that those 15 old white guys in SLC speak on His behalf. If he actually believed that he’d be on a senior mission. I’m simply drawing readers attention to the fact that he’s a hypocrite.huckelberry wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 5:51 pmI like the message of this song. Questions, I am not understanding actual belief must result in a senior mission. I should admit the whole idea is a bit new to me. When I heard my brother was doing such a thing I was surprised. He had retired and spending time back In Germany where he did his youthful mission sounded like a positive experience. I did not think that requirement or command to fulfill was involved. The church website sounds like seniors may apply if they wished.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 8:34 amI’m not trying to make MG feel guilty, nor am I trying to coerce him to go on a senior mission. Re: “I’m gonna live so God can use me”
Apostles have told members that they should serve a senior mission. That the Church needs them to serve a senior mission. Within Mormonism that’s tantamount to God issuing the call to arms. So not serving a senior mission is telling God no, or it’s a sign that the member doesn’t really believe that the Apostle is actually relaying Gods will. It’s a sign they don’t really believe what they claim to believe about their Church and its leaders.huckelberry wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 8:53 pmQuestions, I am not understanding actual belief must result in a senior mission. I'm going to ignore your references to senior missions for now. For reasons I went into some detail earlier and you have completely ignored while continuing to beat your drum.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 9:35 pmI’m right. Or have you now put your papers in for a senior mission?
