Two police officers knock on the front door of a citizen, they back up 20 feet for safety, the homeowner comes out with a baseball bat, he raises it, they can't tell if he's going to throw it at them or if he's about to run at them attempting to strike them with the bat. They shoot the homeowner because they felt their lives were in danger. In all 50 states this shoot would be legal.

So when the idiots on this board say the federal officer shouldn't have shot the lady in the car when she clearly hit him with the weapon/vehicle, they know they are lying!! And they know he had every right under the law to shoot her if he felt his life was in danger.

He pulled out his gun while still holding on to his cell phone and triple tapped her in the head. The angle of the first shot shows he was not in the path of the car. The second and third shots were through the drivers side window, with him more than an arms length from the car. That’s stone cold murder. And after he executed her, he called her “damned bitch.”

I just wanted to note that while this ICE agent was working for CBP, there was a leaked report that found agents were purposefully stepping in front of vehicles so they could then justify killing the drivers.

Actually, the scenario you’ve described would almost certainly result in the immediate arrest of the officers and significant criminal charges. Furthermore, it would trigger massive wrongful death civil settlements in nearly every state.

For this use of force to be considered legally justified under your scenario, several critical elements would have to change. Here is the better scenario:

"Two police officers arrive at a residence to serve a high-risk warrant for a violent felony. They stand 20 feet back. The homeowner exits with a baseball bat. The officers immediately identify themselves and give multiple, loud verbal commands to drop the weapon. Instead of complying, the homeowner screams a threat and sprints at full speed toward the officers. One officer attempts to use a Taser, but it fails to stop the subject. When the homeowner is within 5 to 7 feet and swinging the bat at an officer's head, the second officer fires. The officers then immediately provide medical aid."

I wonder how many times one has to post this picture of a perfectly safe ICE agent standing by the side of a car and firing shots through the window at the driver's face before people like HoH feel that they can can concede that the agent in question went (just a little wee bit) too far?

Rittenhouse chose to leave the comfort of his own home to cosplay Dirty Harry. Yes, he chose to be there. If he had not gone to a place he didn't belong, he would not have been in a position where he felt he had to kill people. Whether his kills were justifiable in the circumstances was something a jury decided. In his favor after he cried and claimed he was very sorry for having made the choice to put himself into that situation. A remorse that was short-lived once he hit the right-wing grifting circuit to profit off the fame he achieved for killing people.

Good lived in the neighborhood where she was murdered, had just dropped her 6-year-old off at school, and was unarmed when she was shot in the face three times.

By "shouldn't have been there," I was thinking along the lines of parking her car perpendicular in a road to prevent federal agents from doing their job.

This is an inference you are making, and an unreasonable one that does not appear to be backed up by the facts as they have been made known so far. There is no factual basis for your assertion that Good's intention was "to prevent federal agents from doing their job." From the videos, you can see she was about to clear out, when she was prevented from doing so by the cussing thug who stopped his truck in the middle of the street, got out and aggressively approached her vehicle where he attempted to reach in and open her door, and then, a few seconds later, by Ross putting lodging three bullets in her skull.

It's true that one similarity is that the people who lost their lives would not have lost their lives if not for the agitators being where they should not be. . . In the case of Good, ICE agent Ross was an armed agitator who had no business being on that residential street in Minneapolis. . .

Ross had no business being where he needed to be in order to do his job?

Ross absolutely had no business being on a residential street in Minneapolis harassing a U.S. citizen who was sitting in her vehicle in her neighborhood. ICE employees have no legal authority to arrest anyone other than people they reasonably suspect of being in the country illegally, or people who are in the process of committing a crime. Ross had no reason to suspect that Good was not a U.S. citizen. Nor was she committing any crime. Unless you think exercising one's constitutional right to peaceably assemble, speak one's mind, or petition the government for a redress of grievances are crimes, as the Trump regime apparently does.

Moreover, Ross was not "doing his job." He was violating his training, rules, policies, and procedures when he deliberately stepped in front of Good's car, unholstered his weapon without cause, and proceeded to shoot her in the face three times.

Yes. Have you been in a coma for the last year? I'd say getting shot in the face three times constitutes harassment. Are you not seeing what's happening? Are you on a news diet consisting solely of right-wing propaganda a la Whiskey and the Hound?

This is me rightfully pointing out that Person A (Rittenhouse) should not have been where he was and Person B (Ross) should not have been where he was.

Where should Ross have been in order to best do the job he was hired to do?

Where did immigration officers used to do their jobs before they were deployed en masse to U.S. cities to wreak havoc, harass and murder citizens, beat and torture people, tear gas people exercising their constitutional rights? Perhaps a desk job in Bellingham would have been a more appropriate assignment for this twitchy white supremacist.

But now that he has committed what certainly looks to me like murder in the second degree, maybe the best job for him would be scrubbing toilets in the lavatories at Minnesota Correctional Facility – Oak Park Heights. I know the kitchen jobs are in high demand.

Here’s an outstanding recent example:

Marimar Martinez was on her way to donate clothing last October when she noticed federal immigration agents in Brighton Park, a predominantly Latino neighborhood in Chicago. They were there as part of “Operation Midway Blitz,” which had terrorized the city with raids. When Martinez saw them, she and others started following them in their vehicles, honking and shouting “la migra,” warning others they were immigration agents. Moments later, her vehicle and that of a Border Patrol officer briefly made contact. He got out of his car and opened fire, shooting her five times. 

The Department of Homeland Security called Martinez a “domestic terrorist” and laid out their version of events: The officer, Charles Exum, acted in self-defense after he was “rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars,” spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. Martinez, who had supposedly appeared in an intelligence bulletin the week prior “for doxing agents” and posting threats online, was accused of threatening the officer with a “semi-automatic weapon.”  

She was charged with assaulting, impeding and interfering with a federal law enforcement officer. 

Martinez survived, unlike Renee Good, who died after she was shot by a federal agent in Minneapolis this week. Good “was harassing and impeding law enforcement operations” before trying to “run them over,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. “It was an act of domestic terrorism,” she added. President Donald Trump called Good a “professional agitator” and claimed she “viciously ran over the ICE officer.” 

Good’s death is part of a larger pattern in Trump’s second term: Federal agents shoot, then the government begins a campaign of lies and propaganda.

“They’re doing the exact same thing now because they have to, because how else do you justify shooting a stay-at-home mom with stuffed animals in her car?” Christopher Parente, Martinez’s attorney, told HuffPost, referring to Good’s killing.
“You’ve turned Montessori school teachers and stay-at-home moms into Timothy McVeigh in the minds of these agents, so of course their first reaction is to shoot.” 

In response to a request for comment on Friday, McLaughlin repeated the same claims from months ago that have since been debunked, referring to Martinez as a “domestic terrorist” and saying she had “rammed federal agents” with her vehicle.

The claims DHS made against Martinez, a 30-year-old teacher, were so thin they didn’t even make it into court. The charging documents noted only two cars following the Border Patrol officers and did not mention a gun at all. In court, Martinez’s lawyer argued that body-camera footage showed that Exum swerved to hit Martinez’s car and not the other way around. And Exum himself acknowledged that the vehicle contact “was side to side” rather than a “head-on” ramming maneuver. After the collision, he yelled “Do something, bitch,” before opening fire, Parente argued in court. And Martinez had not posted a threat against federal agents, contrary to McLaughlin’s statement, her lawyer said prosecutors told him.
 
Meanwhile, the government vehicle involved in the incident was driven to Maine, more than 1,000 miles from Chicago. DHS “ordered the Border Patrol in-house mechanic to buff out all of the alleged damage — in this case, a paint swap, essentially,” Parente alleged to HuffPost. “At which point, we were unable to have our expert look at it and show that it was actually the ICE agent’s car that side-swiped her car ... We were in the middle of that destruction-of-evidence hearing when they dismissed the case.” 

Federal prosecutors dropped the charges against Martinez — a spokesperson said at the time that the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York was “constantly evaluating new facts and information relating to cases and investigations arising out of Operation Midway Blitz” — and the judge dismissed the case. 

Text messages from Exum also showed him bragging about the shooting. “I’m up for another round of ’“F” around and find out,” he wrote. And later: “I fired 5 rounds, and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book boys.” 

I’m still waiting for Hound to show any evidence that Ross was struck by Wood’s Honda.

I can't help noticing the fact that the more we learn about this incident, the worse it looks for ICE and the ICE agent who killed Ms. Good. The worst mistake she made was the naïve belief that ICE agent Ross would not act so extremely as to kill her out of pique over a protest action that was not remotely dangerous to him. I repeat that his own camera's video proved that, and that she did not deliberately try to run over him.
