I don't think minors who in my opinion are confused about their gender should be given any irreversible treatments such as puberty blockers, mastectomies. The fact that the parents don't have a say in whether these procedures are performed is wrong as well.

Fortunately, they are entirely reversible. The only adverse outcome can be some decreases in bone density in some individuals.

Guess what isn't reversible? Puberty. That's why it's recommended that:

So, in order to do something irreversible regarding hormones, the guideline is for a multidisciplinary team to reach a consensus that the gender incongruence is "persistent" (i.e. not just "confused"), and that the adolescent has the mental capacity to give informed consent. This team is made up of both medical and mental health professionals. Even then though, this is a partially irreversible treatment (not fully).

The links I shared prior to your post also go into the long-term studies conducted regarding outcomes (both those who underwent gender-affirming treatment as adolescents or adults, and those who didn't, following pubertal blockers). I imagine you might be surprised by the overall long-term outcomes.

I think, like with the topic of abortion, you may have a caricature created through your media choices on what the medical field, and "liberals" view as the best practices surrounding this topic. Are there extremes? Most definitely. Are there low-information advocates on the left that get pretty kooky in their virtue signaling? Without a doubt. The actual evidence, practices, and guidelines are much different though than what low-information leftists, or media-soaked conservatives paint them, and believe them to be.

That being said, the only possible individual that Snopes found that could be associated in any way to "Jewel" was Allen C. Piening, Psy.D., who had is license revoked. There's no way of knowing if this is the same "Jewel" (at the time of the post, that wasn't her name).

If it is the same Jewel, there’s a pretty good hint in one of her posts about the reason for the revocation:

I couldn’t find anything in Wisconsin, but the Complaint in Indiana alleges that he lied about receiving Psy.D and submitted a forged certificate stating that he had earned the degree. If it is the same guy, he hadn’t been licensed for years.

It was a psychologist, not even a psychiatrist. She made him pour the bleach in her eyes twice. The first time she tried she was really angry with the psychologist because she could still see her television, so she demanded that he do it again. If the psychologist is criminally liable for this, why shouldn't these teams of sex change doctors be liable for the damage they've done to these kids with similar psychiatric issues?
