Did you believe that a man who randomly drew non-existent hurricane paths onto a map with a Sharpie during a press conference, and who proposed getting UV light into your body to kill a virus was the same guy making all of the decisions during his Presidency?ceeboo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 1:02 amDo you think that there might be something in play here that is more important than your personal preference?Manetho wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 9:54 pmEven if, as Binger and Ceeboo are claiming in the other thread, Biden were too mentally unwell to make decisions (which I do not believe to be the case), I'd rather the decisions be made by a random nobody inside his administration than by anyone Trump would hire in 2025.
This "random nobody" that you speak of - has this person been elected by the people to make decisions? Or are you saying that you have authorized this person, on behalf of all Americans, to make this decision?
If Biden were too mentally unwell to perform his job, instead of your personal preference of a random nobody, I think we should consider the VP Harris stepping in. After all, there might be a very significant process that ought to be followed that would place Harris in that vacancy.
Just a thought.
Or might there have been a whole boatload of ‘random nobodies’ helping to sort him out?
How does that change your feelings about this issue?

You misread me. My point is that anyone in the Biden administration is better than Trump and the delusional fanatics he would bring with him into office.ceeboo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 1:02 amf Biden were too mentally unwell to perform his job, instead of your personal preference of a random nobody, I think we should consider the VP Harris stepping in. I respect your point and, respectfully, don’t find it credible. Not even a wee bit.Manetho wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 7:31 pmYou misread me. Anyone in the Administration is not eligible to be President. It is another dumbass hypothetical that can’t be proven or disproven. You have a choice to make, facts are relevant. Hypotheticals ain’t.
Also, Biden was clearly experiencing dementia, age and/or retardation. And the so-called “anyone in the Biden administration” hid that fact and lied about that fact.
Pretending that this scale of disinformation and voting for a retard is the higher ground must feel awesome! Yes! Feels great. But it ain't credible. No hypothetical will make it credible.
So sure. Vote Biden. Then you can feel great about voting for the old guy that isn’t in charge. Great.

Very true. Last time Trump had some fairly capable people around him. This time the signs are pretty bad and point to a bunch of right-wing extremists filling the Executive Branch.

There is zero chance that anyone will run in Biden’s place now. The democrats are toast, and rightfully so.

Democracy and the rule of law are toast once Trump is elected.

Re: Biden needs to step aside
I appreciate the President's comments from his Oval office address on political violence. I thought the comments did an admirable job denouncing normalizing violence and the rhetoric of violence while acknowledging the election is still over fundamental differences that will have important consequences.
