I doubt any of them realize it at this point, but Trump fans “F” themselves by admitting they're Trump fans. It's a clear indication they can't be trusted. Their analysis is bad, they are given to wishful thinking, and they have a distorted world view. They are ignorant, stupid, belligerent, insane, or some combination of all four.
They might as well advertise themselves as Christians. When all you can do is offer your feelings as evidence for everything you have to say, you don't deserve to be trusted with anything.
I won't do business with anyone who has even a whiff of Trump admiration. They are damaged goods. They might as well admit they're pedophiles or rapists. Their reputation comes out the same.
The levels of utter intolerance, seething hatred, and open bigotry that you display on this board is shocking. How no board members ever seem to challenge you on these types of unhinged and awful posts is almost as shocking as what you post.
I have a suspicion that if Our current President of the USA, Joe Biden, were a board member here, he would affirm and applaud your vitriol.
President Biden calls Trump supporters "garbage"

Hey Ceebs, I watched the whole tape, and you’ve taken a few words out of context. Biden was talking about the speaker at Trump’s capstone event of his campaign who, with the approval of the Trump campaign, called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. He is a Trump supporter and so are his campaign staff that read that statement and left it in his script. Biden was addressing Trump and those supporters who demonize their fellow Americans.
You’ve already disclaimed that dehumanizing rhetoric from Trump and, I would assume, those of his supporters who also use it. Taking Biden’s words out of the context that is obvious from the clip itself and equating that to what Schmo says on this board is, borrowing your term, ridiculous.
Both siderism is itself ridiculous in the context of this election. Trump and a horrific percentage of his supporters have engaged in unspeakable and dangerous demonization of their political opponents. You had to lift a few of Biden’s words from out of their context and apply a fair amount spin to equate Biden with Schmo. And, if you work at it, maybe you could scour everything that Biden or Harris has ever said, and spin it enough to say “both sides.” And I will be able to simply turn to any Trump speech or that of any of his supporters at campaign events or media interviews, and match you at least 10-1. (I’m hedging my bets because I’m pretty sure I could exceed 100-1 without breaking a sweat.)
Both siderism between Trump and Harris/Biden is not just straining at gnats and swallowing camels, it’s straining at microbes and swallowing planets. Trump's transactional approach to being at the head of the wealthiest and most powerful nation of the earth evidences his sheer contempt for ordinary Americans.
A crystal clear example is disaster relief, which has its own thread on the board. There is not even a hint of evidence that Biden has played politics with disaster relief. On the other hand, we have quite a bit of evidence that Trump sees disaster relief funds as his own private slush fund to reward friends and punish enemies. His attitude is, if you haven’t done something to benefit me lately, you are of no value.
The lion’s share of the investment from the IRA has gone into red counties, adding jobs and infrastructure. Dying rural and rustbelt towns and cities, short of workers because of migration to cities with jobs, need that investment. Urban Seattle doesn’t need a new chip or battery plant. Coal country and the rust belt do. Takin steps to improve the lives of Americans who voted for the other guy is incomprehensible to Trump. That’s called “being a sucker” in Trump World.”
So, no, Biden wouldn’t be at home with Schmo’s rhetoric. And both siderism in the context of this election is ridiculous.
One more note: no one on this board has objected to the use of dehumanizing rhetoric on this board more than I have. I don’t do it to shame people or to get cookies. I’ve done it out of a very firm conviction that “that way lies madness.” Dehumanizing rhetoric is what gives my fellow bits of sentient carbon permission to hack their neighbors to death with machetes. Full stop.
It also runs counter to my deep seated belief about my fellow sentient bits of carbon: “[E]very human being is a unique and irreplaceable work of art” that, wholly unearned, deserves the fulfillment of the American promise that all sentient bits of carbon are created equally and will be treated as having the same right to life, liberty, and the chance at happiness.
The quote is from A.R. Moxon, in my thread about the trolley car problem.
Here’s the flip side: Schmo has the same liberty to speak as I do, and he is responsible for the words he chooses to use. I am not obligated to run around the board and chide Schmo for every insult he uses. And that is especially true on a board that holds freedom of expression as an important value. Castigating the entire board for not virtue signaling in response to Schmo is kinda ridiculous.
Nothing that Schmo says here will cause the unconscionable amount of harm that Trump's dehumanizing rhetoric has already caused and will continue to cause. So why spend so many pixels tone policing each other?
