Yes the temple is symbolic, the symbolism is there to help us understand the ordinances we have just taken a part of. We are all immortal, how we spend the rest of eternity depends a great deal on our diligence in obeying eternal laws while our memories of eternity have been dampened.

A marriage covenent is a morg item. Marriage ordained by God is all nice and all, if true. The leap from "ordained" to "part of a threesome" is a morg jump in logic that doesn't fly.
